  1. So, I've decided to try this game again, after I've quit in 4.0. I was HM raider, where you would get a piece of gear from the boss, turn it in and call it a day. Honestly, I wanted to return to raiding again, I have level 65 PT I want to play (and what have they done to that class, apparently PT tanks are crap), and I have no clue how to gear my character. How do I return to raiding? Do I run SM raids, get gear from there and build my way up to HM? What guild is gonna accept me? What is CXP? I've read about it, but it looks so weird, you get some boxes that you open and you get gear from there? Do you open them, or save them until you increase your rank? How does that work? I'll ride this referal link, but I doubt i'll sub until they make gearing more "normal". Also, do I have to finish that Valkorion story? I think I did 9 chapters, and it's so boring. Do I have a long way to go? Is there any other way to get to 70 aside from Valkorion stuff? And is there a rep tied to that now which I will miss on if I skip it? Thx everyone!
  2. Why is it stupid? Just because you think so? Maybe some of us play this game for it's MMO part? Grouping, raiding, character progression, PVP, conquest, etc, and would like to level alts as fast as possible, without being blocked with stupid voiceovers, where I have to sit and hit spacebar for 3 minutes, then run all around the planet, and listen to some random NPC in a cinematic, while I'm pressing spacebar and 1111. If thats not the worst designed leveling system in a history of MMO, I don't know what is. There is a reason you don't put VO's in MMO. It sucks, and just plains annoys people. As for people who "immerse" in a story, good for them, not everyone is dirty roleplayer. For a MMO, this game is also so freaking linear and badly designed. Literally on rails because of the story. Yeah, and I still spacebar everything, even when I just started my first char. Cutscenes are boring, do not progress my character, or help me be better player in any way shape or form. I play this game because it's closest thing to WoW MMO wise, but isn't sword and board. When I want to play a game with good story, I pick up some single player. This game suffered because it's story centric so much. Literally fastest MMO to go F2P, because all the budget went to VO and sound files. That sure worked out for them. And now they've gated "legendary player" badge behind boring 8 class story grind. They should've given to people who actaully cleared hardest content in a game. Not random scrubs who never set foot in an ops.
  3. I'm also in a same boat as OP. It's just a tedious grind, i'm currently 4/8, can't be bothered to level Pub characters, it's so tedious. And I really powerlevel, spam spacebar and buy mount on level 1 and got most Datacrons with presence, it's still so damn tedious. Not to mention, you lose a lot of time just spamming spacebar, I'd kill for normal MMO questing, where I just enter into zone, pick quests and leave. I lose so much time running around the planet doing stupid main story questline, which doesn't even grants you that much XP, you still have to do either heroics or plantery story, which is even worse. Voice over and those *********** cutscenes killed leveling in this game, it takes so freaking long to spacebar, not to mention spamming 1 for 2-3 minutes while NPC just babbles some ****. It takes about 15 hours to finish one characters, that's *********** 60 hours for another 4 I'm missing. If they only spend that money on some MMO features insted of VO's and cutscenes... Also, story in this game is just fluff, everyone are Chiper Nine, Emperor's Wrath, it doesn't matter if you're dark of light side aside from achievement, witch doesn't even give anything. You get measily 20CC for completing the chapter, please BW, don't be so generous. Give mounts and gold for completeing the story, cool pets, decorations, etc, not measly 20CC. At least people would have incentive to level, doing story for sake of story is most retarded idea in history of MMO. Who cares about cutscenes and voice overs, it's just fluff, real game starts at 65. Point of leveling is to get to you to max level ASAP so you can start playing. Here, story is actually making it worse, waisting your time.
  4. I prefer playing my Powertech, I really really really dislike leveling, it's quite tedious to me. I find badge visually appealing, and most of my raid fellas has it, so I want it as well (peer pressure:D) I enjoy the game, but story isn't something that appeals to me. I'm just looking for the fastest most optimal way to get 4 classes through their respective stories. I don't plan to play them, level them any further, or touch them after I'm done. I just want the badge and presence bonus to min-max my main character. Afaik, that's extra 200 presence I'm missing. That's why I asked what would be optimal specs. For Gunsliger and Inquistor, I assume Stealth AC would be my best bet. For JK, Sentinel would be preferable I assume. As for Trooper, since I main Powertech, Vanguard since I'm already familiar with the Imperial counterpart. I assume that would be the best? As for XP, I'm just trying to find the most efficient way to get it done. Should I level to 20 through story, and then spam heroics until I'm overleveled and then just spacebar through story? Or is it faster just to do story+planet quests while spacebaring? What would be more time efficient? As for cutscenes, I assume there isn't option to turn them off. It would be pretty neat to have that option, it would save so much time. So, I assume with optimal spec, spacebaring and optimal way of leveling, it would take about 6 hours per class I assume? Or bit more?
  5. Hi guys. I need bit of help with leveling for my Legendary player status. I've got 4 classes done, which was major pain in the *** to do anyway, so 4 more to go. What would be the most efficient way of doing it? Wait for double XP weekend? Focus on Heroics only and when you're overleveled just spacebar through story? Which class has shortest main companion sidequest btw? Kaliyo one was absurdly long, and required me to travel to at least 3 planets if I recall. Classes I don't have on 60: Trooper, Smuggler, Jedi Knight, Sith Inquistor. Of those 4, which specs should I pick, and with spacebaring everything and additional heroics, how fast can I do them? Can they be done in one weekend? I plan to use Treek from level one, unlock speeder asap, and use XP boosts and guild bonus. Btw, I don't care about the story, companions, or any of that fluff stuff, I just want the badge in shortest time possible. Also, is there an option somewhere to skip cutscenes somehow aside from spacebar? To go straight to conversation wheel? Thnx in advance
  6. You've changed. A lot. Aren't you supposed to tell people that all is fine and BW will deliver? Overall, tone of your posts has changed a lot in recent months.
  7. Hahahaha, they actually have to type out they are alive. I can only imagine they workplace, cobwebs, and dust gathering around tables. EA is so greedy they probably won't afford them a janitor in their studio. Can someone please buy off SW licence from these bozo's at EA and make a proper SW MMO? And please, can it be a studio that's not focused on a story, and actually knows a thing or two about MMO's?
  8. Same here, EIS, DMC's, armors from new packs, tons of mounts, GTN on TRE is broken, and it's been for a month now. I know you guys are running this game with literally two people, but for god sake, and you have no Q&A section, but this is such a joke. Well, was fun, sub ends on 11th, cya.
  9. Fair points. However, Folks that are playing solely for the story won't likely raid. Folks that do raids are usually in the raid guilds and are avoiding PUGs, you said it yourself. I doubt that increasing leveling difficulty curve would help the issue, but rather think it would drive more people off, and I doubt EAware wants that. Compared to other MMO's, I have a feeling most people play this as a single player MMO, do the story, and cya. As for tanking and healing - Fact is, simply by game design, these two roles carry the most responsiblity in the group content, and when you make a mistake, it's usually big. People don't like that kind of stress, and I won't even mention douchebag DPSers who are quick to point out you've failed. Most people forget they were noobs at some point as well. I play tank, and even though I have vast MMO/raiding exp, both as a tank, raid leader, and healer, I still refuse to PUG. When you're tank or healer, and you want to raid, chances are you'll find guild that suits your needs, and just do stuff with them, reducing stress level by a lot, and in the end, have more fun, compared to PUGS. Que times are bad, granted, and in my opinion, one of the biggest things BW can do to help that glaring issue is to implement x-server or some mega server.
  10. I doubt any new player will care what que times are for ops here. Some might, but again I doubt they will be put off from subing by the fact that que times are 1 hour. That is assuming they even check the forums first. I had similar que times in LFR in WoW, with cross server and much bigger raiding population. Sub/unsub, I doubt anyone cares, most of us here are well aware this game no longer caters to raiders, and has ****** engine, and is ran by sekelton crew, and we cannot expect any real content or features because EA just wants to milk this as much as possible before pulling the switch. Afaik, Swtor is not generating them revenue anymore, and hasn't for a while, if I read last fiscal report properly.
  11. So, what's your suggestion then? Cross server was promised, but as usual never implemented. And given this game is practically in maintanance mode, I doubt we'll see any new features or content for that matter any time soon. Community can do little when it comes to that. Sure, as a paying customer, it's your right to come and rant on offical forums, but at this point I doubt BW even cares if raiding community stays or goes. Also, you said it yourself, you're in a raiding guild, why do you care what que times are?
  12. Thanks, it worked. We did ignore the blue circle in our first tries.
  13. Hello everyone, I've been trying to do FE FP for HK, and I've encountred a bug where Prototype A-14 & Prototype B-16 droids would one shot me. The ability called Staff slam just hit me in tactical for 146k damage. I've tried Solomode, however Saberthrow from the shielded droid hits me for over 40k, both me and my companion, basically oneshotting me. In tactical we went as double dps(double AP PT mostly in 220 token gear, with double comp healers.). I've also tried to do it as in tank spec, 220/224 geared, and I would still get hit for over 100k even with my defensives poped. I've read the guide again, but apparently, saberthrow is not avoidable, and nowhere is mentioned that Staff slam hits for so much. From Dulfy: This is a pair of droids you will encounter. One of the droids will go into a defensive mode called Simulation Mode where it stops taking all damage and throws a saber attack at random party members that hits for ~ 1.4 k HP. You will know which droid has this mode active because it has a blue aura around it. Attack the droid that is not shielded and healer watch out for the throwing saber attack that the “shielded” droid does. Pretty much a “tank and spank” fight otherwise! Am I missing something, or this is another bug to add to the list of broken stuff since 4.0?
  14. +1 on this. I have 220/224 geared PT tank with 216/220 dps offspec, and I can't remember last time I tanked pug. And I pug at least 3-4 SM ops a week for comms, DMC's and decos. I always go as dps. A week ago I waited hour and half in que with 7/8 people waiting for one tank, and I didn't want to tell them my main spec is shieldtech:D I made myself a nice dinner, and played some Hearthstone. The amount of **** people throw at tanks is retarded in this game. And yet, nobody wants to roll one.
  15. When exactly did they say this? Got source for this? Afaik, they only said they'll bring back Bronze, Silver and Gold packs back, but they never mentioned they will bring back old rep items+cartel certificates.
  16. Story is overhyped in this game, and all these voiceovers and cutscenes made this game a mediocre MMO. I've leveled my main, BH tank, and did consular. A while ago I tried to do IA, and barely managed to finiah chapter 3. Only reason to do story in this game is for presence bonus+heroic moment. And I hate the fact they hid such powerful cooldowns behind tedious leveling grind. The most efficent way to get those perks+legendary player badge is to have high level char boost you through heroics, and then just spacebar through class story. I'm currently leveling my warrior like that and even though it's amazingly tedious to do so, it's the fastest way to get my buff.
  17. Bioware said a lot of things. As for new ops, I doubt it, it's the most expensive piece of content to develop, and since this game is on skeleton crew, with minimal investments from EA, I doubt we will see any new ops.
  18. Having more REAL MMO content is sure ridiculos demand:rolleyes: I've came back to this game two months ago, while briefly playing before 3.0 and I'm already sick of same ops. I can only imagine how other people feel. You can really tell this game is on a skeleton crew, and has been for quite a long time now. But, it's EA, what can you expect, minimal investment, maximal nickle and diming. There's a reason why they have been voted worst company in US for a while.
  19. +1 What this guy said. Also, his sig is spot on. BW, read this.
  20. As much as I agree with bolded part, Karaga can be tanked in one corner if you know what you're doing. There's no need to move him around the room, when he drops flames, you can just move one step aside and you're good.
