  1. Erm, yes you can. I have a toon on an EU server and another on a US server.
  2. Only the ones on the bridge though. You can't sit on any of the other chairs.
  3. This is why I have a floor standing tower and not something that goes on the desk. Even my monitors are bolted to the desk on a VESA mount. This just leaves my keyboard for them to sit on. Which they do all the time. Or they sit between the keyboard and the monitors.
  4. That's quite a **** up on someone's part. Although in theory they still shouldn't be able to gain access to SWTOR via your account; you still need the authenticator to get in to the SWTOR site itself and in to the the game. (Also, rule one of a compromised system is to treat everything as compromised - the only way to fix it is to reformat and reinstall)
  5. I run Windows 7 64-bit with 8GB of RAM and I've never seen that happen.
  6. I find the same with my SI going up the tank tree. It's entirely possible I just suck, of course.
  7. Elite let you do things like that. Newtonian physics in modern games would screw so many people up
  8. Space combat in SWG could be awesome. It could also be as dull as ditch water. Running around your friend's YT-1300 was fun though. Especially as you could jump in to one of the gunnery seats and shoot things if you flew in to combat.
  9. Most of the Imperial cast are British actors and actresses.
  10. The reason the Imperial accent ended up being British is because the Star Wars films were primarily shot in the UK when it came to studio work. Almost all the actors used for Imperial bit parts were jobbing British ones. I dare say most of the non speaking Rebel parts were British as well. Antony Daniels, Alec Guinness, Caroline Blakiston, etc. are obvious exceptions (being British people with Rebel parts). The game is just carrying on the tradition of associating the British accent with the Empire.
  11. There are Imperial characters with Welsh and Scottish accents. They tend to be NCOs.
  12. As far as I can tell datacrons create a short lived quest item, because it's mechanically how they're implemented.
  13. You may not even know the mail is there until you check a mailbox, the system e-mails for special item deliveries don't always seem to show up as pending items in your bar.
  14. I chat on general from time to time. It's just in game IRC as far as I'm concerned. Only without the advantage of me being a network operator
  15. That's what I was thinking; I didn't know there was an auto-turn. Although thinking about it, lightning will continue to hit someone even if they run from being in front of you to being behind you, so long as they were in front of you when you cast it. I guess that's what they're complaining about. I'm not sure why.
  16. You know that's a really trite argument. It's also irrelevant. The daytime downtime in the EU doesn't affect the majority of EU players, because they're mostly working or at school. Night shift workers get shat on, but they always have done and always will. And I say that as a UK player. The downtime always happens when I'm at work.
  17. Did you include things like quick travel, mount, fleet pass, etc?
  18. They're not really based on anything from lore. They're more like a cross between George Smiley and James Bond :s You get the brutal grittiness of le Carré with the charm and sophistication of Flemming.
  19. Now that you mention it, my feet are aching...
  20. Who said they were? We're just saying they *can*. Not that they *are*. For things to happen generally requires people to actually make official complaints. I'm not going to, because I haven't actually seen any misleading advertising targeted at the UK - in fact I've only seen static poster style advertising in the UK.
  21. They frequently do quite a lot about it. Usually this results in people in the US complaining about how the EU is mean to businesses.
  22. The lore reasons are just excuses. They regularly game the lore to make the game more playable - lightsabers not slicing through everything being one example. The real reason is Wookies are too different to other humanoids. Normal armour and clothing doesn't fit them, they can't speak basic, and the idea of getting jiggy with a walking carpet is probably another reason. The observation that all the playable races in game are the same bodies with different heads is entirely legitimate. There's a site which did a comparison of the bodies with obscured heads - you can't tell the difference.
  23. The true high resolution textures are only used in cut scenes and conversations. In normal game play a lower quality set is used. They used to use the high res textures in game play as well, but they said it was placing too high a demand on people's systems, even those with high end gaming rigs. Personally I think they should have left them as it was and just let people decide for themselves whether their system can actually handle them. Add an Ultra setting that uses the high res textures everywhere and let High do what it does now.
