    It's a Sin in PVP

I think a healer should be able to stalemate a single DPS toe to toe if they are equal skill, but I have seen the 3 vs 1 situation with 3 decently skilled players against 1 uber healer you cant take him down. In no situation should any 1 player be unstoppable against 3, even moderately skilled players (against 3 pure idiots yes). Now with that said here has been my guilds solution. We respeced 2 of our DPS to be single target DPS, rather than the AOE DPS that get all the high DPS numbers at the end, sure we put out 350k instead of 800k dps by the end of a match, BUT we kill us some healers. Our two DPS take out a scoundrel of any skill 2 v 1 extremely fast and I have taken out many scoundrels and sages solo. Without throwing out my tricks doing 1 v 1 against a GOOD skilled healer depends on my cool downs and if they are alone. Now the other DPS is a sharpshooter, also specced for single target DPS and so when the healer attempts to put some range between the marauder and himself, just far enough away for no melee, but too close for force leap (smart healers do this) the sharpshooter is still hammering him. This isn't to say two marauders speced and done right cant take a single scoundrel down or sage, just to say it happens much faster.
  2. Field Respec should be allowed in these locations (while OUT of COMBAT): Civl War - On your ship before speedering down Novare Coast - inside your base before jumping down Huttball - inside the starting room area and nowhere on the playing field Hypergate - inside the starting shielded areas Voidstar - inside the drop shuttle area (attacker) or shielded defender area The reasoning is simple, to respec you have to either have just started the match OR have just died so, no capping the node and respecting quickly, you have to DIE, respect then speeder back for example. You guys think this is an issue, imagine when/if they add dual specs and if they let people switch instantly inside a warzone.
  3. See I know several clueless players that started PvP with their guild on PvP servers they did ranked groups from both sides, using their Loss characters and WIN characters. They que, if both teams POP they go in, if they don't pop together they cancel. The quickly get a new player to the ranking needed by letting them do things to the LOSS characters, then they can quickly purchase (at cheaper prices when rank is higher) the better gear. They make sure everyone gets 8 medals (LOSS or WIN toons). Now in this same scenario playing matches in this manner wouldn't raise your valor much more than just playing (except for the 8 medal guarantee part). I think we all know the PvP rating system can and is being manipulated by those that can do it. On the bright side for Bioware, Valor meaning something means Valor boosts would sale more off the CM
  4. LOL, I just told them and they don't believe me.
  5. I say yes with a few notes: All must be toggeled to count toward daily/weeklys You don't que with players that toggled all, let the premades battles begin You can choose not to join a match in progress You can choose to not join matches with grouped players (premades)
  6. I can understand them wanting to give higher ranked players cooler looking armor, but I feel making them cheaper going by rank is a poor choice in design. I could insert here some long speech about how ranked is just not viable and this reason and that but it would come across as pure whining, so I will go with a more logical approach to Bioware. Player retention, if a player has played enough PvP matches to make rank 100 for example it would be nice to see something more than a title come from this. Right now valor is nothing but a useless number sitting on your stat bar, it gives other players no real sense of how you play, how well you play or anything, just that you have played a lot, either badly or not it still goes up, albeit slower for loosing players. I would like to see instead of rating required items OR in a addition to rated required items some Valor required ones (please don't preach here about crafted items needing it, as those crafted versions are useless shells) For longevity of PvPers I think it makes more sense for valor requirements on purchases allowing you to buy the armor sooner with a higher valor. This would also mostly appease those like me who had their Elite War Hero sets turned into PvE gear less likely to want to slap sense into someone at Bioware. If I am rank 60 them Partisan should be cheaper, if I am rank 80 Conqueror should be cheaper, 90 could be reserved for the level 60 armor and 100 for level 70 armor later. Anyway ROTHC and the EWH changes made with it made me turn away from PvP back to PvE for awhile, but I grow tired of running the same predictable ops, flash points etc. This is what kept me playing PvP, real people fighting you keeps things fresh ad compared to Boss Mechanic A fought this way etc. I just want to scream knowing again I am getting my arse handed too me as I start collecting gear again, especially since it feels like the exact same grind as EWH did. So please consider replacing ranked item requirements for Valor requirements. BTW I know of several ranked players who wont play ranked anymore because they got their color crystals etc and don't want to loose them, by not playing ranked their rating cant go down and the items are safe and sound.
  7. The only change I want to see is next time they decide to raise the max level they don't bend the PvPers who spent months getting Elite War Hero only to be told your hard earned armor sucks end game now (before you tell me I suck doesn't take that long etc, I had 7 50s). I think the EWH should've been either used to go to Conqueror via upgrade like from Partisan OR sellable back to the vendor to regain some ranked comms.
  8. Since ROTHC launched I see smugglers/Ops rolling to their hearts content over and over and over and over without a cool down. I have tried on my smuggler/agent to reproduce this and cant, is this supposed to happen OR are they using an exploit? I really want to know, is this an exploit OR by design and if its by design how can I get my op rolling to his hearts content? Seems devs wont post about this and if it is by design then I would ask that the assassin skill to phase walk back to a marked spot not remove power orbs in hypergate or the ball in huttball. It seems like all the 51 powers give someone an edge in PvP except this, perhaps im missing one, I have only 8 55s, so not all advanced classes.
  9. Make them their own section to post in for help edtc
  10. First I agree I want it back, second I have to wager they removed it to reduce people summoning him just to hear it, thus filling the area with huts/items the server is having to handle needlessly. It couldn't be that hard to datamine to determine how often he was deployed without anyone training from him. I know many Ops I was in with 8-12 of these huts cluttering the area. Perhaps they should make right clicking the hutt make him laugh (like laugh at not deploying for you) and left click deploys him. OK OK I admit it, I summoned him to hear the laugh and not ONCE did I train from him *phew*
  11. I have thought exactly this, why not make valor rating increase your expertease and nothing more, then allow those in PvP to earn same stat versions of the PvE gear with different looks. Something like for every Valor rank you gain 25 expertease for a maximum of 2500 expertease.
  12. PvE gear rated a tier higher than your PvP should be about equal in PvP, as PvP gear a tier higher than PvE of the same rating is about equal in PvE Example: PVP- Partisan Eliminators Blaster Pistol(Rating 150): +128 AIM +137 Endurance +191 Expertease +63 Power +803 Tech Power +60 Surge PVP- Conquerors Eliminators Blaster Pistol(Rating 154): +136 AIM +146 Endurance +191 Expertease +66 Power +847 Tech Power +64 Surge PvE - Exceptional Eliminators Blaster (Rating 156): +131 Aim +156 Endurance +66 Accuracy +115 Critical +869 Tech Power PvE - Arkanian Eliminator's Blaster Pistol (Rating 162): +144 Aim +155 Endurance +140 Power +936 Tech Power +72 Surge PVE - Underworld Eliminators Blaster Pistol (Rating 168): +157 Aim +172 Endurance +150 Power +1006 Tech Power +79 Surge From what ive seen someone in full Verpine/Underworld does have a very slight edge in PvP versus someone with full Conquerors. Just as someone in Full Conquerors has a slight edge in PvE over someone in Exceptional Gear Remember they already said there is Rating 160 (mod level 72) gear for PvP is coming in 2.2. So I have to agree with biowares current bolster levels based off rating of the item. My personal opinion, if someone in full verpine/underworld kills me in my full Conquerors I don't blame the gear, they merely outplayed me because the difference is very small.
  13. If your F2P and your haven't logged ANY character in for 6 months I think its fair to loose your names, if youre a sub then they are getting $15/mo to hold those names as long as you want to keep paying. I understand if you go on duty etc, but you have friends/family that could log in their F2P account if they don't want to pony up $15/mo. on that point if you are deployed and cant log in for 6 months how much connection do you still have for the game?
  14. OK LISTEN, SIMPLE POINT TO MAKE HERE. THEY CAN EXPAND on the system once it is in place, do you want to wait 3-4 more patches until they can FULLY implement it OR get some modifications now and more later?? People WHINED SO MUCH about the bugs in "Unify Color to Chest" in beta that they REMOVED it from the game for MONTHS after launch. I would rather they left it in and deal with some armor pieces just not acting right (some still don't) than have them remove it. I mean seriously, I think BIOWARE could've given you a primary, secondary color set, 500 new hair styles, 17 new races, scalable body types, massive height modifiers and you people would complain about them not adding the ability to scale your feet, hands separately. WOW you people amaze me every freaking day at how much you DEMAND.
  15. If they add player housing I pray they make it its own planet with a way to avoid going there as after SWG, AO and UOs housing I realized something, they were all nothing but big BANKS or show off zones and I could careless. I also don't want to see personal vendors show up all over, the time I must have wasted in UO and SWG stopping at every freaking player vendor was probably more than I played the game, so please keep that madness out of SWTOR.
  16. Oh Lord if they do this I can see us earning The Master Crafter and The Classic master Craftsman titles for the same achievement.
  17. I know over 12 male nurses, all use the title nurse, NONE of them say male nurse so I asked one who has been doing it for almost 20 years and he said "hospitals did that when they desperately needed more nurses and by placing the special incentives for "male nurses" they hoped increase the available trained nurses coming into the work force. Cooks and Chefs are COMPLETELY different things, the guy at Olive Garden who makes your meal is a cook, the guy who came up with how that meal came together is a Chef. That's like saying the people that build an iPhone are the same as the people who originally put the prototype together. Flight attendant was all about equal pay, originally you had stewards and then stewardess, the big problem was most steward had been working for railways for years before the airlines needed someone so most stewards were paid more, then later a brand new steward with less experience than a stewardess for airlines was paid more because of that original setup. Pan Am changed it to a single title and the more accurate "Flight Attendant" as really a Steward was a well-known railway term, but very few women where a steward on trains so stewardess instantly because the buzz word for the flight attendants when Pan Am launched its massive campaign around them. I am all for equality, equal pay for equal work, women in combat etc. However to take the name of a profession like Craftsman and change it simply because the word MAN is contained within it I think dishonors the craftsman both women and men. So really if in REAL LIFE you’re not a craftsman then I really don't find any point in your argument. BTW Devs I volunteer, you can put a permanent title over all my male characters that says "Feminist", "Nancy Boy", "Pansy" etc of your choice, guess what I wont care, nor will I ever care about a title in a game being one way or another. Don't like, don't display it, simple and guess what already an option in the game.
  18. Keep in mind this is over 3,000 years ago, let alone bickering over what to call someones job "Meat Hunter" was popular as was "berry gatherer"
  19. ..... and while your at it don't forget to rename manhole covers as personhole covers. It isn't a title stating MEN must do the profession, it is merely a job titled after original crafters who happened to be men. I know many female craftsmen who aren't threatened by a simple title. Definition of craftsman: Craftsman may refer to: Artisan, a skilled manual worker who makes items that may be functional or strictly decorative Master craftsman, an artisan who practices a handicraft or trade Craft, the profession of a craftsman It clearly does not say a skilled man, OH wait I forgot MANUAL contains the word man to, so they should change that to read a skilled physical labor worker. Things like these is why other countries laugh at us and make fun of us, in fact my opening line about the manhole covers is from a English comedians act about how its HIP to be PC in America. Im sorry I hope the devs do nothing more laugh off this post, the day my title changes I wont be in hear whining about it, I think it is a waste of space to complain about such trivial meaningless stuff.
  20. Satele Shan, I think it would be great twist to have her fall to the darkside and even better if it launched the expansion "The Fallen" in which Republic players that achieve level 55, Social X and Dark Side V could turn to the empire and Imperial players that achieve level 55, Social X and Light Side V could turn to the republic. Of course they would have to complete an intense series of quests proven themselves to the Republic or the Empire, perhaps helping turn Shatele Shan Dark Side and maybe redeeming Darth Ravage to the light side.
  21. Not to mention anyone with a holostatue of Satelle, Malgus or the Hutt from ROTC preorder has a trainer on them at all times.
  22. I think it should be a weekly comm spending cap, not earning capp like reputation. So if your on vacation and earn 200 over the cap, next week you have access to those 200.
  23. Offensive?? I would think offensive should be reserved for all the people who have replies to CE posts in here before saying CE people deserve nothing beyond what they got at launch, those posts I found offensive. Keep in mind, I also dished out $150 + $20 for the guide at launch, I also spent the money. I think you are misunderstanding my post, I am stating this is something they could do quickly that shouldn't upset anyone. I am not saying they don't have some obligation to update/add items to the CE vendor, but when you consider that they have only added 1 item to my knowledge since launch (the Tauntan pet) . This would give us something, rather than NOTHING for our CE purchases. I choose something over the obvious nothing they seem intent on doing so far for CE owners. As much as they reskin various pets, speeders etc and drop them in the cartel market packs, which become trash (ive deleted so many speeders/pets because it isn't worth the time to list them for 500 credits) that I don't understand why they don't at least re-add the speeders you can no longer get to the CE vendor as purchases. The DE Vendor is such a joke, the Tirsa Elite has to be the ugliest speeder in the game.
  24. Rather than just disagree with you and go on and on about how the change you mention isn't need, I will explain why I don't feel its is needed and I am a 2-3 hour/night guy too. You are forgetting the reason they originally put a CAP on planetary comms and holding capacity at 2.0 launch. Planetary comms drop from ALL planets now and are one single currency. This is why they had the weekly cap at 2.0 launch, but because of community outrage (for other reasons) they removed the cap and increased the holding capacity. The WHY, simple, visit a planet that your so high above you can solo all the heroics in minutes, you get planetary comms from the turn in, not to mention strong/elites in those areas tend to drop planetary comms pretty well. So 2 nights ago I take a 50 with no gear over item level 22 and did the heroics from Tython to Hoth (with a brief stop over on Makeb), by he end of the night I was only missing 4 armoring mods, the rest including my sabers were Purple Mod 25s, here is the break down to consider: Planetary coms cost on Makeb (MOD 25 items): 4 - Modifications 4 - Enhancements 10 - Barrels/Hilts 12 - Armoring Mods Most Heroics on planets give you 2-3 planetary comms and usually you get at least 1-2 dropped ones during the heroics. Each planet was yielding me 8-23 comms, it added up quickly, I even reached 91 and went to Makeb before continuing. Character Slot needs: 7 Enhancements 9 Modifiations 7 Armoring or 8 if offhand isn't a weapon 2 barrels/hilts (if offhand is a weapon) So lets look at modding out your entire armor with MOD 25s for a Sentinel/Marauder: 7 Enhancements (5 armor + 2 weapons) = Total Cost 28 Planetary Comms 9 Modifications (all armor/weapons) = 36 Planetary Comms 7 Armoring (all armor pieces) = 84 Planetary Comms 2 hilts (both weapons) = 20 Planetary Comms Total Cost: 168 Planetary Comms
  25. Karagga the Unyielding, Supreme Mogul of the Hutt Cartel would disagree with this statement and he has for some time
