  1. And Luke being an old man that fought in the clone wars. Solo being a slimy..space slug type thing that actually was a slave trader, Stormtroopers actually had the lightsabers, etc.. See Lucas had the IDEA of Star Wars, but had others that helped him refine the idea into a better STORY. I give Lucas props for the idea, always will. But, there were better writers back then that improved upon his idea. The prequels had no such collaborative process, and it was obvious.
  2. Probably won't be until Lucas passes away. And most of the fans that can recall seeing one of the three original movies in the theater, (I was six when RoTJ came out, it's the first movie i remember seeing in the theater) as well.
  3. The ep. 1 decoy was Knightly..look it up on IMDB if you don't believe us.
  4. You're right. Kira Knightly played the Queen whenever you see Natalie as the handmaiden.
  5. See, you shouldn't need a book that came out 10 years later to fill the plot holes, or explain portions of a movie.
  6. When he recruited Gantoris in the first academy book. I think he did the Force Shield/Levitation thing in the Courtship of Princess Leia too...but it's been over a decade since I've read that one. As to Abeloth, we already knew she/it was overpowered. I mean, the Rakata created teh Maw to imprison her because even they couldn't kill her. As for Luke's overpowered-ness. Have you noticed that even with all his power he rarely defeats the over-arc villain one on one? C'Baoth, had Jade's help. Exar Kun, was pretty much out of the picture for that one. Thrawn...had nothing to do with it. Caedus, couldn't bring himself to do it, even the Emperor...his dad ended up killing him. Even in the poorly written ones he usually wasn't the one to take down the big bad. They either brought about their own demise or it was someone else. -edit- Actually, in Courtship I think he used the force to take full control of the Falcon and fly it better than Han and Chewie combined...but I could be misremembering.
  7. See I haven't seen much about Abeloth except extreme Force Persuasion, Force Consumption, and being a changeling. Kevin J. Anderson having Luke Force Shield, and hover across an active volcano was over the top though. I never considered them to be overpowered for the most part because no-one knew what could be done with the Force.. I guess I don't consider guiding shadow bombs with the Force as overpowered. and I wondered why Obi-wan didn't use the Force to remove the Buzz droids from his ship in ep. 3. BTW, did none of you see the Clone Wars micro series? Talk about over the top...and it was directly approved by Lucas, like the tv show is.
  8. Eh, he bashes Dark Empire and Legacy...can't really fault him for that. The Sun Crusher was a great ship...just looked terrible(and not at all what I pictured it to look like). And if he had bothered to read the plot on that one he would know why it wasn't used until later. Thrawn Trilogy, X-Wing series, I, Jedi, and yes even the NJO were great stories..most people dismiss NJO because of Chewie dying in Vector Prime. But it was a great story with..in all honesty, less than climactic ending. LotF was actually pretty good as well, if you skip over most of Traviss' work. And FotJ I think is pretty awesome. This is my opinion of course. Fact is, there are better stories in the EU and better writers there than what we got from the prequels and the "creator". I will always give props to George for being the "idea man", but he should've allowed a more creative process to flow instead of basically becoming the Emperor with tightfisted control over the entire process. Can you blame people for rebelling?
  9. I've never thought hayden was a "great" actor, but he is better than people give him credit for. I saw one behind the scenes where he practically had to beg lucas to do another take. I saw Life as a House before ep. 2 and I couldn't help but think that lucas told him to bring that exact character out. I barely remember Jumper, and never seen Shattered Glass. But I think him being forced to act so poorly on teh SW movies has actually hurt his career. Ever hear Ewan talk about those movies? He wishes he had listened to his uncle and not done them.
  10. And those 5-6am to 12 or 1pm pst patch times cut into my play time when I work nights. I didn't go to their website and cry about it however. get over yourself.
  11. 1. he's gotten too old, can't think of a younger actor...that kid from Wanted, or Kick Azz, maybe. 2. Again too old. The cheerleader from Heroes maybe 3. Can't see it..Don't know who could replace Billy Dee, honestly 4. Are you high?! HELL NO! Nathon Fillion or bust, maybe Ryan Reynolds...if they kept him toned down from his Van Wilder-esque character (that is all he ever plays no matter the role) 5. Again it is hard replacing Peter Cushing. I just can't see Stewart being evil enough. He was terrible in Conspiracy Theory. The actor that played Skorpius on Farscape, Wayne Pygram, however...he also played a young Tarkin in ep. 3. 6. Can't see him either. He doesn't understand movies like this. I could see Ian McKellan (Gandalf) though.
  12. Nope, Not interested in seeing a rehashed movie. The next time I pay to see Star Wars movie in a theater the title needs to be: Heir to the Empire. Screenplay by Timothy Zahn Directed by someone other than Lucas....Joss Whedon maybe.
  13. Look up Adywan's Star Wars Revisited if you want to see a proper revision of ep. 4. One fan did it, not a legion of sfx teams. Notably, the Yavin 4 death star battle, and the Falcon's escape from the Death Star. Oh and Solo's "few Maneuvers" escaping from Tattooine. He used the '94 SE to do this, a few things missing from his version? Greedo shooting at all & Jabba the Hut I got a copy of this version and it has replaced my SE version in my set. I wish he had revisited the other two as well.
  14. I guess I am just weird then, because i tend to hit on older women, or at least flirt with them more than younger ones. Females my age and younger just tend to be more psychotic, at least the ones I've known, and i don't have the temperament to deal with that bulls**t
  15. But if you notice the only Force user in Alliston's book barely had any sensitivity at all. And in stakepole's, his force user didn't actually train as a jedi until the book I, Jedi. Even then he put a severe limitation on what Horn could do. Anyway, The X-Wing series compliment's Zahn's trilogy nicely I think. And since they technically happen before the Thrawn Trilogy...they could be kept.
  16. he was 8 or 9 when they met, she was 14. So that is 5 or 6 years difference. My dad's 7 years older than mom, my sis's husband is 7 years older than her. But since its the chick that is older in the relationship it is somehow weird? please.
  17. I'm guessing she survives order 66 and is a main character in the Live TV show...or at least a recurring one.
  18. I heard a rumor that the reason he won't release the original format of the OT is because then he'd have to pay his ex-wife a percentage of the profits... That can be a strong motivator to not release those, depending on how messy that divorce was. That would actually make more sense to me than just because he got his feelings hurt. And, of course he can't openly admit that is why he won't release them.
  19. before anyone rips on the guy because you perceived that he was insulting your game. Look up his Cataclysm review, his BF3/MW3 reviews, Final Fantasy review, and Dead Island review for negative reviews. Then look at Portal, ME1 and 2, Dragon Age: origins, and TOR for the positive reviews... You can tell when he really hates a game and when he likes it. P.S. Yahtzee is awesome, and probably the most honest reviewer in his bias.
  20. Darth Vader or Dark Helmet? (sorry, all these who v. who threads have me feeling satirical.)
