  1. I've never frequented these forums much over the past decade, but the new launcher has done something I find unacceptable. I am no longer able to change my loading screen to an image of my choice without it being replaced by the one from the current expansion. I have used the vanilla launch screen for as long as the game has been out and I would very much like to do so for whatever remains of the game's lifetime. Is the launch screen really so important that it cannot be customized by each player?
  2. Any chance we'll see another portrait collage like the one from the 5th anniversary?
  3. So LasagnaSurfer, let me ask you this, why is it your concern where your guild members are when they're not running content? That's entirely up to them, not you. You're coming off as quite the control freak by trying to "steer" them into using the guild ship and by being upset that they can soon live on Carrick Station/Vaiken Spacedock without needing your precious guild resources. Besides, Allies is a far better place to find a group than Fleet Chat.
  4. Since companions are no longer swapped from the Crew Skills window pane (and haven't been for quite awhile now), I feel having some sort of indicator in the Companions & Contacts window which served as a reminder that a given NPC was performing a gathering/crafting mission. Just a thought.
  5. I think if this was going to happen, it would have already. The release of the KOTFE/ET content was the perfect opportunity to introduce two new classes. At the time I was suggesting the Knight and the Scion, but as the story has evolved, it seems increasing unlikely that either group will have much presence on Zakuul. In all likelihood, Zakuul will be conquered by the Sith Empire or perhaps become a member world of the Republic given enough time. As it is, Odessen is relatively nearby and has the opportunity to become a member of one of the other major factions depending on the whim of the player.
  6. This is something I've wanted for a long time. I remember being so disappointed when I found out the Rishi SH was going to exist during the day. Sure I purchased it, tried to make it work anyway, but ultimately deactivated it. I really wanted to see the stars and the Rishi Maze in the sky. 😐
  7. I think the KOTOR 1 & 2 stories were approved by LucasArts when they contracted the Bioware and Obsidian studios to create those titles. Therefore, one could argue that SWTOR is a derivative work of the original concepts, no? Also, fair point about Disney ever using Zakuul or the Eternal Empire, though the look of the planet was amazing in my opinion even if the story was underwhelming and made little sense for non-Force users to be involved in. This is a bit off topic now, but I think if we're not going to see individual class stories anymore, then at least variants for Force sensitives and non-Force sensitives would be very welcome.
  8. Yeah, but this would give them the ability to move in any direction, not necessarily at a specific enemy target. Yeah, I'm trying to improve mobility and introduce a new way for them to mitigate damage by making it less likely someone wouldn't be standing in/crossing through stupid.
  9. So as we know from the films and television products, lightsaber duelists aren't the only Force users who can use it to greatly augment their leaping ability. So why not add that to the Consulate/Inquisitors as well? No, I'm not talking about them flying into melee, though perhaps for the Shadows/Assassins it could be used in such a way. Firstly, I'm proposing that this be an "in combat" variation only otherwise it could be exploited in far too many game breaking ways. Secondly, its range would be limited by the maximum distance covered by an individual running in a straight line using the existing ability. I believe it's 25-30 meters. Thirdly, the real benefit of this ability could be used to avoid battlefield hazards that are on the ground. Rather than going around them, or popping a cool down and hoping for the best, the user could leap over the top. Lastly, the cool down would be shared with Force Speed and not replace it. Thoughts?
  10. I suppose the question should be asked, who owns the visual and audio assets from the SWTOR game? Sure the game code itself it property of EA, but do character models, sounds, music, settings, and story belong to Disney? Surely they'd want to be able to use Darth Malgus, Satele Shan or a multitude of other characters (not to mention bootleg Mandalorian armor) spawned by this game in other projects down the road.
  11. Me too! My original Sage toon's progress there is at a standstill... I have a memory from my time beta testing 8+ years ago that I can still recall with perfect detail today. It's from my Jedi Knight's initial arrival on Coruscant. I remember exiting the spaceport and seeing the massive building before me. I looked to the left and right and saw a vast skyline filled with airspeeders for as far as my graphics cards would render. Coming from the KOTOR series, I really couldn't believe the change in scale. I was hooked at that moment and have been playing since. P.S. Kindly fix the Taris bonus series and the plethora of missing codex entries.
  12. Definitely ignore the guy after berating them for being such a useless waste of flesh. Hopefully we'll get legacy/account ignore in 6.0.
  13. Why not implement a handicap for larger guilds then? Instead of 100 points, they receive 75, or 50? If the devs take multiple attributes into effect (number of individual accounts in a guild, number of max level toons, number of guild perks, frequency at which a given guild hits its goal, etc) then I feel that they can come up with something that will discourage the big guilds from taking the easy route. Individual players are not to be penalized, but the handicap affects the guild only.
  14. Take a look at my proposed melee Mandalorian/Trooper class under here. Feel free to offer criticism.
  15. Most emotes already loop endlessly unless you do something to disrupt them (eg. move).
  16. Damn, did I miss the past 77 years? Was I frozen in carbonite??
  17. Has Tanno Vik been confirmed dead? I don't recall seeing a body...
  18. Truth, but it also puzzles me that many cutscenes (in expansions in particular) force our characters to remove their headgear. Seriously, if I choose to toggle it on, that means I *want* it on at all times. If I wanted to appear without it in a cutscene, then I would change the setting prior to initiating the scene. It's really an easy fix, just have the cutscene appearance abide by our character customization selection.
  19. I've been wanting to do something with my idle companions for a good long while now. Why not let our Smugglers set up a spice mine and assign a small crew there to administrate? We could periodically check in on them, touring the facility, perhaps catching up on old times. I can also see Talos Drellik being sent off to run an archaeological expedition with a few crew as bodyguards and Reclamation Service lackeys by our Inquisitors. Maybe these businesses can be credit sinks at the start, but ultimately be used to harvest various crafting materials.
  20. This would probably greatly impact the rate at which a WZ pops. Some may not even pop at all (there's a lot of Hutt Ball hatred). I'm not sure if giving players full control over this would be a good idea to implement.
  21. I thought we might get a Zakuul Knight/Zakuul Scion class creatable with a boost token on the character generation screen. That ship has sailed though. I think most players want to leave Zakuul in the rear view mirror at this point. That being said, I've been thinking of a true Hunter melee class which is inspired by the stealthed Mandalorians found in KOTOR and KOTOR 2. The Tracker class would be armed with a vibroblade and use many of the same animations of a Warrior/Knight. They would also have access to a tech Stealth generator like the Operative/Scoundrel. They could still function within the vanilla game as at their core they'd still be a Bounty Hunter. The Republic analog would be a Duelist advanced class based on the Trooper archetype.
  22. I remember when I first played through KotFE/ET and being excited about getting my ship back. When I went on board I was not entirely surprised that it was largely empty. I guess it made sense. Curiously, my loyal HK-51 droid was still there after all this time, though he said nothing about my being away for the past 5 years. Anyway... I figured the others would be returning if I could find them again. As my first full playthrough was on one of my Inquisitors, I chose to recruit Talos and Xalek almost straight away. I was so disappointed to find that they weren't returned to their original spots on the ship. I even found myself missing 2V-R8's greetings and placed him in my DK SH so I could solicit them with a click of the mouse. I'm picturing a Top 8 companion list managed through a revamped Crew Skill/Personnel window. Some time ago I came up with a list of preferred companions for each of my characters (in addition to a few I'd absolutely get rid of if given the choice). For one of my hunters, for example, I'd choose the following to populate his ship: 1. Blizz, 2. Gault Rennow, 3. HK-51, 4. K'krohl, 5. Mako, 6. Qyzen Fess, 7. Tanno Vik, 8. Yuun.
  23. This isn't a bad idea. Large guilds steamrolling the small yield planets is rather bad form. I've thought about how to curb it before, and restricting access based solely on guild size seemed inadequate. Basing this on both guild size and prior performance seems like it would solve things quite well. It may make a few GMs salty though. Did you even understand the problem?
  24. I agree. Skipping the entire expansion is fine, but being confined to a single path based on our faction seems a bit too restrictive. I'd personally like to see it based upon existing alignment or even determined by a brief Q&A session like when you meet Atton in KOTOR 2. This is unlikely to happen, especially since they went through the trouble of adding in a legacy unlock to increase the speed at which this particular interaction takes place. No.
