  1. Not sure if this is a wide spread bug or not. I have also posted the bug in the appropriate forum.

The bug: Out doing some solo PvP activities (heroics, chapters, whatever). Queue for a warzone. Get pop, play warzone. Almost every time my companion is missing once I load back to the PvE instance. I can't summon that companion back - they always have the icon to sell grey items. I can summon another companion unless I'm doing a chapter that requires a specific companion, in which case I need to zone out of the instance, summon another companion, log off, log on, then summon the original comp. This is getting annoying.

    Any work around?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. If you are not trolling, you can do great damage and focus on the objectives also. While you can win doing less damage it is much much easier to win when you can out damage your opponent. Not to sound like a douche but I am almost always in the top 3 in damage (regardless which class I'm playing) and I always play objectives. Huttball can be exception and just depends on that particular games dynamics.

The number one piece of advice I can give you to get better at PvP is to stop clicking and key bind everything. Buy a gaming mouse, it will take a few weeks to get used but you will never look back.

Here is a good cheap gaming mouse that I purchased myself. I think it is just as good as the Naga.

  3. I experience this problem too. When returning from PvP, the Companion Status Indicator is missing. If go to the Companions Window, it will give me the option to send them to sell junk, even though they're not present. The only thing I can do is summon another companion, but when I do the game still somehow thinks I have my first companion out and still only displays the Sell Junk button. Clicking it will indeed, bring up the Confirmation Window to send them off to sell junk. I can summon any of my other companions no problem, but whoever I have out when I enter PvP is affected by this. It isn't until I close the Companion Window and reopen it that I can summon my first companion. This also occurs when travelling to a stronghold. This is really annoying, and for newbs or people rolling new characters, it's unacceptable. I thought this would've been fixed by now.

I have this problem constantly, it is especially annoying when on a chapter that needs a specific companion.

  4. I have been holding off with buying any gear (depending on my crate drops) so I was getting close to the 1,000 cap on components. I decided to upgrade my relic (gear rating 234). I never got the tier one or the tier 2 236 relic so I had to start from the 230 relic and upgrade 3 times for the 242 relic.

In order to upgrade to 242 I needed to do.

    1. Go to tier 1 vendor to buy an assembled relic.

    2. Drive next door to turn in the UA Relic for the actual relic

    3. Go back to original area to turn in 230 relic plus components for the 236 UA Relic.

    4. Go back next door to turn 236 UA Relic for the actual relic.

    5. Go back to original area to to turn in 236 relic for UA 242 relic.

    6. Go back next door to turn in 242 UA Relic for the actual relic.

This ran me ~350 components and far to much of my time to upgrade one stinking slot.

    I hate RNG.

    I hate GC.

I hate stupid mechanics to upgrade.

    Stupidest gearing system ever.

  5.

Getting those pieces wouldn;t be tied to where you're in the story line, would it? I don;t recall anyone mentioning that before.

No I don't think so, I pulled 4 tier one set pieces without ever running a single chapter. Somewhere in tier 2 i did the first 9 chapters and my luck does seems a little better now but I don't think it is related.

  6. daily reminder that queuing as a balanced group is the only form of matchmaking that exists for warzones and if everyone did so it would reliably lead to more balanced matches

not only is playing with a group perfectly fine, it actually makes pvp better for everyone

I largely agree, but the way it is implemented in this game, being able to group and play randoms, doesn't improve the quality of the PvP experience for everyone.

And I will readily admit that there really is no solution at this point in this games life cycle.

Personally if I play too long in a group I get bored as most matches are so easy, if I'm constantly going up against a premade I generally go do something else as I have an aversion to banging my head against a wall.

  7. It makes me happy deep inside my person that this thread continues to live on. The MadCuzBad in this community never fails to impress.

"You want me to actually be social and play with other people in an MMO in order to win? Thats f*cking ridiculous, I'm going to go write a very strongly worded letter on the forums about this!"

    Autists United.

    1. Grouping in MMOs should be encouraged. Agreed.

    2. PvPing should be on a level playing field. Most true PvPers would agree with this.

Most reasonable people would see how the PvP in this game is a bit off in it's implementation.

  8. Okay, just have a question here.

242 Gear. How often did you get the top end gear before with OPS and/or PvP? Did you get it all in a day? A piece a day?

In two plus months in 4.x I had 4-5 alts all fully geared an optimized in top tier PvP gear and a stash of comms that if i wanted to i could gear another 3 out pretty easily.

I currently have 0 fully geared in 5.x.

  9. You are right on that Bioware probably will not change this anymore. You are however wrong imo on the effects it would have. I would expect a drastic decrease of premade teams.

Face it the average premade is mostly about gaining an advantage, if it weren't they would be playing team ranked.

It would probably lead to Queue synching then dropping if they did not get on the same team.

  10. Yeah this is just another stupid design choice in a long list of stupid design choices. In command tier two I got a grand total of 2 236 pieces (I'm one of the lucky ones) and another handful of 234 pieces, both should be up gradable to 242. It's almost like they don't want you to get gear.

It is simply another kick in the junk.

  11. Don't have a group of friends to coordinate with and run war zones? Then don't expect to win all the time against people who do. Put in some effort instead of whining. Everyone can get the same gear , and skype is free.

LOL, the issue has nothing to with me. Facts are facts and a premade simply has a much better chance to win especially when using voice chat against a team that needs to type.

So before you go assuming anything about me maybe take a step back and ask YOURSELF why you are defending premades. Maybe it is because of some shortcoming or lack of confidence you have in YOUR ability as you seem very defensive on the topic.

  12. Will it make hard to trace it to an experienced dev at bio who knows the game in and out? Probably not, will it be harder for support? Absolutely.

Each character has unique numerical key or should. Tracing from one server to the next should be child's play for anyone with rudimentary SQL skills.

  13. What I find so funny as someone who has player Merc since launch is that for years Mercs were a joke in Ranked as Sins and Sorcs ruled the day running around in God mode. Now those players who used to kill Mercs with nothing more than a sideways glance have to work to kill Mercs are now crying for nerfs. All the Merc players ever heard from these FOTM classes was L2P.

Well now I say to you whiners that cannot kill Mercs as easily as you did before L2P your class. You have had it so easy for so long that you never had to put in any effort, just button mash well now you need to learn your class.

This is the best reason I've ever read on maintaining class imbalance.

  14. Yet, for some reason, this is apparently enough to make me an unhappy recipient of abuse and name-calling on a weekly basis.

I am surprised the bitter solo queuers haven't demolished regs yet.

So u mad bro because you get abuse for being in a premade but then go on to abuse the vast majority of people actually queuing for regs in your post? Smart.

  15. Premade teams ruins american football, hockey and soccer. And last but not least also curling and synchronized swimming.

So... lets forbid all team games and team sports...

    Make soloplay great again.

Build a wall around all teams and let them pay for it.

    /irony_off

The better analogy is pitting the New England Patriots against a team of randomly selected players from all the other teams in the NFL and telling them to go play 1 minute from now. If you don't understand why the Pats would have a huge advantage and would almost certainly dominate I won't be able to help you.

PvP has always been about equal competition and should be ability based. When one team has a gear or coordination advantage (or both) it is bad for PvP.

  16. The stats as a DPS you are looking for are somewhat personal preference but**

1,700 - 1,800 for crit. This is a hard rule for all DPS.

Alacrity is a personal preference but I shoot for 8-10%. Some classes benefit more then others.

Accuracy is still useless (debatable) so you can either go none or enough to get to 105%.

After you have attained the numbers above you want to use Mastery Augs over power as they provide a slightly better benefit.

**This information is largely based on wonderful work done by others pre 5.1 bolster change but I still believe applies.

  17. This is a symptom of the real problem in ranked since your rank is tied to winning and your (random) teammates. If there were enough players where your ELO actually put you with equally skilled players then you would see less of this type of behavior.

Unfortunately either ignoring it or not playing it are currently your only two options.

  18. Stop. Just Stop. If by complaining and whining of your general lack of ability in PVP on the forums is a way to let the Dev's know how you feel than we should just dumb down PVP in general for every class so your mentally capable of facerolling in every game you play.

Raw data, performance and numbers should be the factor in any decisions of class balance. Not a bunch of need to "Learn2Play" posters on this forum.

Players (and actually playing) put in context what the raw numbers are saying. I believe the reason why we have such class imbalance is because of "raw numbers".

For instance, I have a much much much better win percentage on my Mara then I do on my DPS Jugg, even though my Jugg almost always is a scoreboard star and my Mara is often near the bottom (medals). Why? Is it because I've played the Mara longer? Nope just the opposite. They both do the same damage or the Jugg may do a bit more depending. The reason is meaningful damage. The Mara does more meaningful damage in a PvP environment and pure numbers alone would never tell there is a significant difference between the two classes.

In other words some classes simply have more of an effect on the outcome of the match that numbers would not tell you on the surface.

  19. None of the merc/mando DCDs are heal to full and if you recognize the color of the shield and what to do and what not to do when you see which is popped it makes life a lot easier. Just bashing away when they have a shield up is a recipe for failure.

Both the reflect and bubble can heal to full. The reflect is obvious, just stop attacking though the merc will get a few heals in most likely. The bubble is a little more problematic. If you can't kill the merc before the bubble wears off you shouldn't attack, if you can you run the risk of the merc just clicking it off when needed. The abilities are essentially leave me a alone buttons for 16 seconds all the while the merc is free to DPS or cast heals. On top of those the merc also has a JIC button that heals to 70%. Yes you can mez or stun but if you get longer then a 4 second reprieve that is a bad merc.

  20. Your asnwer to everything is: Being Focused!

There is not a class in the game which can survive "being focused", just happened to me yesterday on my Merc. I got overconfident and stood in one place. As I used all my cds one by one, then medpac, adrenal and then i died. Took around 25 seconds and the OP Merc was dead.

The other team then won the round. Sure i learned my lesson and next round i was focused again, yet i kited, cced and knocked back etc. We won the match after that. If you are focused you are dead, I have killed sorcs that didnt get to pop bubble (not netted) or Mercs that didnt get to activate reflect.

Only 25 seconds of standing stiill being focused and your were dead. LOL

  21. You really need to read what I stated more carefully.

Quitting a game that frustrates you is not being a victim. Insisting you have no options but to quit because gearing via GC is perceived as the only path (which is simply untrue in this case) .... THAT is playing victim.

Are you serious? Persevering and overcoming challenges in games IS what gaming is all about for most players. A game without any challenge is rarely played by adults with any level of sincerity. At least for those that are not just there to collect their goodies and then /quit.

Now.. if we are talking about a pre-school level approach to game play... then I could see your point to some extent. but I'm going to side with the fact that this is NOT how most players approach challenge in a game, and most certainly not in MMOs.

LOL nevermind. You are simply an arrogant troll that twists words to meet your agenda.
