  1. If you nerf these classes you absolutely need to nerf mercs, snipers and maras. Otherwise you will just have the same imbalance that you did in the majority of 5.x.

The bottom line is (most) these classes were just brought up to the OPness of other classes.

  2. No balancing changes :(

When can we expect some ballance changes? Tactical nerfs/buffs? Set bonus nerfs/buffs? The next patch? January? February? I understand you're extremely busy but some communication would be nice.

There were balancing changes. PTs got buffed. Another class for you to complain about.

  3. I was able to complete all 6 SFs and all 10 levels of the EC in non set bonus 306 gear with a 50 level companion set to healing. In the EC there were 2 fights that I had some issue, I believe they were 7 & 9. All other levels seemed pretty easy. I went through a week or 2 after 6.0 dropped.

So doable for sure. Whether they are doable at a lower level or lower gear level maybe the issue.

  4. So are you saying we need to take the combat escape from Sins and Ops now? Sins will go to the bottom rung the next day if that were to happen. They would literally be the first out in every match.

So is your problem the escape or the tactical cheese or just Sins/OPs in General? To be honest this is sounding more and more like "my class is not the best anymore".

As I said, class stacking has always been an (the) issue. That won't change until you have better match making or a much higher population or more likely both. The way the game is currently there is always going to be the ideal Class/Spec to play.

  5. If you have the XP set, class missions are more then enough. Just space bar through movies and you can finish the whole original class story thing in 10 hours or so if you are good at grinding.

If you don't have the XP set, each planets heroics would be enough to keep you at level I would think. Space missions are also a good supplementary source but not all of them are open until you hit certain levels.

  6. All of those things are taken into account when balancing classes. Tactical swapping is obviously not.

I'm a former madness sorc main, now a lightning sorc main.

Sorcs and snipers get out of combat in a very small percentage of ranked matches. I mean, even mercs, juggs and pts can get out of combat if they just run away from everyone and no one chases them. Sins, ops and maras get out of combat in virtually every single ranked match. If you seriously can't see that difference, you need more experience in ranked.

    Glad we agree lol

Lighting Sorc is extremely strong right now. I played madness for years, it's kinda bunk right now. I have no problem with a tactical nerf, but some of the people in this thread are just whining about the OPness of other classes because they don't know how to counter or are used to being at the top of the food chain.

As someone who plays several different classes, Sins and OPs can be countered or at least driven off. LTP issue. Obviously when you put several together thats a problem and the real issue.

Ranked is a bad place for balancing. Always has been always will be. It's no different then any other season where you'd see 3 mercs and one mara. Or 3 maras and one sorc heal. Or whatever the current meta was/is. It's a great part of the game but population and match making is the real problem.

  7. Lets say I want to find out what the average difference in height between the 10 adults living on my street is.

I line them all and and begin to measure, I approackh the third guy and he is standing on a box.

The box is a confounding variable.

Now, this box needs to either be removed from the equation. Or it needs to be normalised for so that its effect on the data collection, analysis and conclusion are essentially cancelled out. Otherwise I will end up drawing the wrong conclusion.

You can remove the confounding variable by removing the box, and then measuring the man.

You can measure the effect the box has on its own, then measure the box and man as a whole, and subtract one from the other to normalise the data.

Or, you can normalise the entire data set by giving all 10 men that same size box to stand on.

What you CAN NOT do is say " 'ach just let him have the box he's a short arse anyways" and get out your measuring tape. You will have a skewed result that does not represent what you are trying to measure in the first place.

Tactical/s switching are confounding variables in the data collection process for class balancing. And a whole heap of them have been dropped into the mix.

Any meaningful data regarding class balance can not be taken until they are either normalised for (give them to everyone in equal measure, their effects are too widespread to try to subtract), or removed (lock the character sheet so they can not be switched inside of PvP environments).

The problem with this is that even if you normalize certain aspects, some of the men are crouching or slumping due to their lack of stand up straight skill, and some have been the tallest in the village for forever and not use to the 18 year old that grew 6 inches over the summer and are now whining that they actually have competition.

  8. I think we should remove all talents/tactical that give each class an unfair advantage if used correctly.

So, lets remove off healing, off guarding, off taunting, phase walk, invulnerability bubbles, force speed etc etc etc.

This thread seems like a lot of crying from former fotm classes (some of which have been basically near top of the food chain since 1.0) but maybe that is just me.

There are 3 classes that can break combat at will (if it actually does break combat since this has been bugged forever). There are two classes that can phase and if used correctly can break combat although there is some waiting involved, though one of the classes can essentially heal to full via off healing. All range should be able to effectively kite. My point is Sins an opers can be countered if YOU use your class talents correctly.

Maras probably are feeling the pain the most now because they actually have a counter class for the first time in their history.

All that being said switching tacticals should be limited to the start/death area.

  9. As a solo player and full (almost optimized) 306 I love the new gearing system but some tweaks are needed. Mainly, the drops should always be based on your iLevel regardless of content. There is no reason whatsoever to restrict gear in any manner. It's senseless to do so. Full disclosure, I can solo nearly all veteran FPs so your mileage may vary.

Crafting - Yep it's a mess. But you can still make scads of credits on it.

PvP - I like the fact you only get a box for a win. But again, when you get drops below your iLevel it is simply retarded.

Dailies/Weeklies. A box should be added to the weekly quests. There is a box drop from chapters, I don't see a reason to restrict it. Same with heroics, add a weekly reward per planet. Give incentive to run them. I have not run a single heroic since 6.0 dropped.

I have some other notes but have to run now. But it's the first time since very early in the game I'm actually considering sticking with the game for a while and not just running the new content and move on.

  10. With stealth something like Hammer might be solo friendly (haven't done it post 5.0, but have in past) - it is certainly duo-able.

Without stealth, the trash in most would be the biggest obstacle.

Thanks for the tip, I was able to complete it. I may or may not of had a death or 3. Took a while but still faster then waiting in the queue. That being said, not sure I want to do it 3 more times.

  11. My vote would be to keep it simple, One Currency two vendors, one for PVE one for PVP.

Lots of ways to get the coins, FP, Dailey's, PvPer, Ops etc., higher drop rates for harder content but nothing restricted to anyone.

For example: best gear open to all, you can just get it faster if you do top end stuff.

    Be safe

The simple solution is usually the best solution. I would only add make the currency legacy bound.

  12. We 5.0 dropped it was easy to make 20+ million, or far more if you had access to semi rare mats, a week with maybe 45 minutes a day focused on crafting. Since I came back a month or so ago it is not quite as easy and I have not spent too much time on it but I still have been averaging 7-10 mill a week on the "staples".
  13. The timed mission is the rotating weekly. You completed that and earned 1 Masterwork Crystal.

You turned 2 in from UC.

Daily Weekly does not give Masterwork Crystal, only random 252 gear.

The 50 ranked or PvE objective is the fixed weekly.

You should have only gotten 3, not 4. Maybe your 4th came from a Command crate? That still only give 2/week from missions unless you turn in 1500 UC every week

Ahh damn you are correct. 3 so far with a potential 4th (with UCs). I forgot the daily weekly gave an RNG piece.
