Shadow Syndicate Plans

Is anyone else having issues turning these in? I started with 748 Shadow Syndicate reputation, handed in 180 plans to the chick on the lower promenade of Nar Shaddaa, and ended up with the grand total of....748 reputation. No increase at all.

Working as intended, or yet another bug of this failed update?

Yeah, you are certainly not the first nor the last to stumble over this little gotcha, because the expectation, as you noted, is different. You do get items in your inventory if you are over the weekly cap, but otherwise, hmm. Even the Odessen HQ people get their reputation directly via similar dialogues, so it should be possible. But maybe this weekly cap can be an issue they chickened out of dealing with as part of the dialogue thing, a problem you don't need to take care of when dealing with people/companion reputation/level. Easier to dump the items into inventory and have the generic reputation code handle this. That is just a guess, though. Edit: Or could be the way they dump the things into inventory, because many rep items come as part of mission rewards, and they seem to auto-trigger something which is not done here. I'm not sure why the tokens are not auto consumed. The reason you get tokens instead of just the +500 like the Alliance Specialists is because tokens benefit from reputation bonuses (Subscriber bonus, Guild bonus, Login Reward bonus) while the flat +500 rep does not benefit from multipliers. And thanks heaven they're not! At least with this, when I'm at cap I can turn in the Plans to make room for new drops or GS rewards but at the same time I'm not speeding thorugh the rep ladder. It's the only rep I have left, so I'm perfectly happy to use it to just get 43k of CQP everyday and nothing more. Especially since there's no rep vendor yet.

It is a good thing the tokens are not auto-consumed; that takes away player agency. The way it is now, players get to choose when to consume the tokens and in what quantity at any given time. This kind of control has been taken away from us with respect to the other reputation items. I'm glad to see this reversion to allowing players control of their own reputation.

Holy £%@$! They actually deployed a feature that works as intended, (possibly) doesn't bug and improves the player experience and freedoms.

Wonder if the dev responsible is still on staff? Would love to hear which other features they had to work on and the issues that prevented them from succeeding to this same level with them.

It might also be related to the wonky way that they are rewarded, with a system like the Alliance crates where they can get taken away because you Esc-ed out of the conversation.
