wulfflordd
Not sure if this particular issue has been discussed. Can't find any information on why the rating on adaptive lightsabers indicate differently. Under the crafting window for the said adaptive lightsaber indicates a higher rating than the finished crafted lightsaber. Both are unmodded, so there should not be any difference. Example: In the crafting interface a Custom-Built Lightsaber has a Rating 46, but after crafting it the rating drops to 8. Anyone knows if this is a bugg or something the DEVs probably missed? turbomagnus
Okay... are you certain that 46 is the item's Item Rating and not it's crafting Difficulty Rating? Is the 46 appearing in the tooltip when you hover over the item before crafting or in the actual menu of the Crafting window itself? Second possibility; take a look at the crafted item, does it have open slots for Hilt, Mod and Enhancement? Most Adaptive shells (weapon and armor) have a base Rating of 8 before the Hilt (Barrel/Armor), Mod and Enhancement are added.
wulfflordd
In the crafting interface its clearly indicating that a custom-built lightsaber has a rating of 46. When I craft the saber its rating drops to 8. No mistake...its the item rating and that issue also appears on all the other adaptive lightsabers. JediQuaker
Well, as the other guy said, the base rating for un-modded weapons is 8. So, the 8 is correct, and I don't know where the 46 comes from. (I think some of the crafted items originally came with mods - that may explain what their rating used to be.) Take the base lightsaber and add the appropriate green mods from the fleet vendors to up it's rating. Edited August 13, 2020 by JediQuaker

Confirmed. Crafted *moddable* lightsabres ("adaptive" is short for "adaptive-weight" and applies to armour only) such as e.g. the Custom-buit Lightsaber do, indeed, show rating 46 (with all slots open) in the crafting window and rating 8 (with all slots open) on the finished product. On further investigation, it's worse than that. The Midlithe sabres are requires-level-56 and show as rating 168 in the crafting window. Conclusion: this is a bug and should be reported in the Bug Reports forum, http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=417 Much the same happens on Armstech, although the relationships between the requires-level number and the erroneous rating are a bit all over the place.
