Reeny
The Republic is not the "good" side as they want everyone to believe. The Republic has performed some atrocious acts, which they hid from most people. The Republic is in some ways more Evil than the Empire.

Evil is just a point of view.

Qoojo
The republic has an ethics officer. The empire has an anti-ethics officer. But that guy sits in a cantina drinking, and makes fun of anyone that reports a violation.
Gerandar
is it because they become a empire themselves?
Flyceratops
They're both evil. The Empire does have plenty of well-meaning people (or people who are at least extremely loyal to their country), it's just that they don't seem to exist in the government or in places of high command. The Republic, on the other hand, has plenty of evil people in the lower places with all of the good people in high command. It's very interesting. If no one cared, it wouldn't have been. It's the thought that counts Edited December 30, 2011 by Chomag

AJediKnight
I don't believe in democracy, either in-game or IRL. How does a Republican system wind up with corrupt, terrifying institutions like the TSA? Sith all the way.
