I will give you a way to earn it. Do heroics/dailies (assuming you are level 70) and you will be able to get 5-7 million in about 2-3 days. I know I can do it on my sawbones.

And stop spending your credits on other frippery as you save up for the jetpack. (Note: the jetpack itself is frippery. I mean other frippery.)

There are multiple ways to make credits. The easiest is to by items from the Cartel Market, and sell them on the GTN. Currently the Revan Reborn armour is on sale, spend $40 on some Cartel Coins, buy that armour, and you can sell it for probably at least 50 million credits. If you wait a few months, the price will go up and you can sell it for 100 million+ credits. You can also do Heroics. A planet's worth can get you at least 250 000 credits. Playing the GTN, buying low, selling high, can also make credits. You basically buy an item for cheap, then sell it for more. You have to make sure it will sell though. I watch a YouTuber by the name of SWTOR TV. His videos usually either talk about making credits, or are related to it. You can also just go on YouTube and look up how to make millions of credits.

You'll very rapidly find that 6 million is nothing.

 

There's very little in the game you need that isn't already provided, so spend it wisely, if indeed you do.

 

Don't get caught up in the "OOOOH SHINY" mentality but DO exploit it. People are complete morons with credits in this game because they're easy to acquire,

 

Reasonably priced lightsaber crystals sell like hotcakes.
