Weapon tuning unneccesarily difficult to get

Recommended Posts

I wanted to post here in the hopes that the developer responsible for cartel market items sees this and reconsiders the drop rate for the weapon tuning.

You advertised this item and it is a well executed (aesthetically) item. But on my server the cheapest one is 20 million credits, which is 5 million more than it was several days ago. This essentially locks the item from a vast majority of the playerbase with no effective way to get the item other than grinding dailies for a week or more. I play the game regularly and have just over 20 million credits. I don't think I'm in the 99% here. Most players probably have much less (and I'm sure a small minority have much more).

You've already extremely devalued hyper crates with pointless chance cubes. I don't understand why you continue to devalue hypercrates by making the drop rate for an item you pitched on the website and in the launcher absurdly low.

This kind of negative treatment of customers has an exponential effect. The more things like this you do the less hypercrates you are going to sell. I used to buy one for each pack and happily, but this year I have only bought one.

Either make the lightning tuning available for PvE/P currency or offer it for direct sale in the cartel market. I do not want to pay 40 dollars for a small chance at something I want in a video game. I've got a cat to feed.

You don't need a weapon tuning. You want a weapon tuning.

Which means that you are not going to starve to death if you don't have it. If you really want it, you will spend the money. If you are not willing to spend the money, it means that you don't really want it afterall.

I've got one on my etched double saber with lime green blade.....and it was a waste of credits imo. When actually fighting (pvP/Flashpoints) you can barely see the lightning graphic.

I do look ****** just standing in my Apartment or on the Fleet....but that's all it's good for.

Overall thoroughly unimpressed with this item.

Weapon tuning effects shouldn't be cartel pack specific and should just be a random drop from any pack. Idc much for them, imo, as I already have all the weapons with effects so tuning seems redundant, but I suppose it has potential. Edited by Willjb

They stated that future tunings would be available via means other then the cartel market.

As I side note I agree it's something you want not need. There is no gameplay advantage. Just aesthetics nothing more. Like the person above said you really want it you'll pay the cost for it.

I don't think you understand. Weapon tunings are not intended for joe everyplayer. They're intended for the people who have 20m just lying around to drop on something that carries no real tangible benefit.

And to sell hypercrates.

false, tunings are intended to increase interest in the game, and failing to allow the majority of players to acquire them is counter-productive.

As for their intent to sell hypercrates, I agree and have no real issue with it, since as a sub, I get CC's every month. though I do think that sub players should have a higher chance of success of super-rare item drops from packs. As its only fair to reward players for being subs and further encourage others to get a sub.

  • 2 months later...
He's right I bought the 30 hypercrates, 1/2 of my cartel coins, and got 1 weapon tuning and I have 11 toons the other items were mostly crap that I had zero interest in or any resale value. I have only logged in few times since between that and the stupid Wookie mission, even LOTRO looks good by comparison now and that game is How OLD? Not going to bring in any new interest by hyping things to entice people just frustrate them by hoping they will buy cartel coins like old ladies at a casino hooked on slots.

I think a majority have over 100m, but less than 500m as of this time if they played on a regular basis imo

ROFLMAO! I very seriously doubt that fam.....

(I've been here since launch btw)

OP, I don't plan on even worrying about weapon tuning until there's another way to get em besides gambling packs. I'm not about to break my bank trying to get that one item. I might have 20mil if I use every credit from every character I have. It's not worth it imo
