4.0 Tactics Rotation

Hey guys!

I just got back after a long hiatus from the game, so forgive me for being a noob. But because it's been so long, I need a good rotation for my tactics vanguard.

Do any of y'all have a good rotation for a tactics vanguard?

Tactics??? Define Tactics please.

Seriously. 3.0 switched most of 2.x Tactics into Plasmatech and 2.x Assault Spec into Tactics.

Do you want a Pulse Generator Pulse Cannon and an autocrit on High Impact Bolt along with Fire Pulse?? Or do you want the High Impact Bolt reset and Assault Plastique?? Plasmatech kept Assault DoT's while Tactics kept its Gut which now resets everytime you use High Impact Bolt or Sticky Grenade.

Well, no matter what, Kwerty has the best DPS Vanguard guides for PvE.

Pyrotech (Plasmatech)

Advanced Prototype (Tactics)

And if you don't know the translation to Vanguard from Powertech, rotationally, Vanguards/Powertechs haven't changed from 3.0 to 4.0, so you can use the 3.0 guide found in my sig as well.

I would personally like Pulse Cannon and High Impact Bolt. I was Sheild Specialist before I left a while back, and now that ive come back Ive realized that being a tank just isn't for me. What are your thoughts on Pulse Cannon/High Impact Bolt spec?

Plasmatech has average burst, decent sustained but no viability in PvP due to a lock of mobility and paper thin defenses. It is great in regs when you can just pressure 4-6 people, but it lacks killing power. In PvE, it is decent enough, but AP does as good in most fights.

Ah, I understand. Don't mean to keep bugging you lol, but what can you tell about the other one (not plasmatech, the "new" tactics one I guess lol). Which is better for Ops.?

Tactis got THE burst. It got decent sustained for a burst spec, decent defensive and high mobility. Its energy management is slightly harder due to the amount of filler and the variable energy management allowing you to dip over 40% quite easily.

In Ops, both specs are decent and viable for most fights.. You should ask Kwerty for more precise answer.. I'm more of a PvP'er ;)
