Force jump

both Sith Warrior and Jedi Knight have Force Jump (I think SW is called Force Charge)

If you mean out of battle, that would trivialize exploration, and give Force using classes an unfair advantage.

and this is the wrong forum, this should be in General Discussion.

It's not really unfair, Bounty Hunter has jetpacks, grappling hooks, you name it.

Troopers got a grappling hooks as well, same goes for Imperial Agent.

Smuggler could have a throwing rob.

So not really an unfair thing, all classes can have something that can make them get higher up

Mass Effect: Andromeda is rumored to be adding Jet Packs as a key combat and exploration mechanic. It's going to be powered by the FrostByte engine, and EA is very inspired by its Titanfall multiplayer that added a new vertical dimension to typical flat first person shooter games. Titanfall (March 11, 2014) is so well known for walljumping, and parkour that Call Of Duty series added it's first step into vertical gameplay in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, (November 4, 2014) there's wall running and powered strafing.

SWTOR was designed in a time where this trend in FPS didn't exist, it's based on a pure wow clone MMORPG engine and BiowareEA have only added midly implemented force speed into the MMORPG WoW Clone formula. LucasArts had innovated before by adding force powered platforming to it's Jedi Knight series of First/Third person shooters, but Bioware didn't consider it in their design goals for an MMO.

Like another user mentioned, JediKnight/SithWarrior classes have Force Leap/Force Charge to instantly close the instance to a targeted enemy. (" Jump to a distant target, dealing 44-50 damage with the main-hand weapon, immoblizing the target for 2 seconds and interrupting the target's current action. Builds 3 rage. Cannot be used against targets in cover. )

SithInquisitor/JediConsular both classes have Force Speed, allowing make a force powered sprint (" Increases your movement speed by 150% for 2 seconds. Does not break Stealth. " )

Both those abilitiles are vital in scenarios like PVP Huttball.

This game is severely limited by the fact that it's a cookie cutter MMORPG, and it's restricted by the WoW Clone MMORPG design. You're not going to get Jedi Knight, Jedi Academy platforming in an orthodox MMORPG like SWTOR.

There really isn't any hope for having vertical dimensions in MMOrpgs this generation. Your going to have to wait for future games and future game designers to solve those design and implementation challenges. 10 years from now or at least 5 before we see something that takes advantage of new design philosophies.

====================

If you want to play MMOs with with vertical gameplay you need to look outside MMORPGs like WoW and its clones. The only games offering vertical gameplay are Warframe and Hawken, they are MMO Shooter RPGs.

Warframe is a Third or First person shooter 4-player cooperative vs. Environment MMO. basically play as space ninjas

Hawken is a First Person Mech shooter, vs. players or offline bots MMO. Pilot mechanical robots and defeat opponents in PVP to level up and upgrade.
