Satpolpp
It is actually a very good tool to lessen the burden on the developers side : -They get free ideas from 'our' side, and can choose to implement it at future patches -True lovers of the game (i.e. mod programmers) will feel appreciated -It's a self-censorship system whereby mods with unwanted features slowly get left out or tries to evolve into something gen pop actually wants -It prolongs the life of the game because obviously many people customizes their own thing and end up playing a lot longer that they wouldve been otherwise -AND DEVELOPERS GET IT FOR FREE!!! NO RESOURCES SPENT, NO TIME SPENT!!!! COMMUNITY HAPPY!! DOH!!! Word of caution however : 'Dumb-down' mods such as dbm, the old questhelper, the AR thing in wow, etc, things like this MUST NOT BE ALLOWED in! They must be able to filter out which are cosmetic appearances and which are 'performance-enhancing' mods. One have to admit that sometimes the ability to customize what appears on our screen and how we interact with it is very appealing indeed.
