Did Leia have Force potential?

Luke Skywalker says that the Force runs strong in his family, including his sister. When he battled Darth Vader, Vader remarked that if he could not turn Luke to the Dark Side then his sister would become his substitute. Leia also gave birth to Force sensitive children.

So did Leia ever train as a Jedi or exhibit Force abilities?

Since you mention Leia giving birth to Force Sensitive children, I assume you're talking about in the Legends / EU? If so, then yes .

She began some training in the Force in the years after Endor (particularly during the Dark Empire conflict) but as the work of establishing the New Republic continued she drifted away from that path and spent most of her time working as a diplomat and high-ranking member of the nascent government (she served as Chief of State on multiple occasions).

She continued to kind of... dabble in the Jedi arts, for lack of a better term, for years, but her other responsibilities kept her from ever fully committing to her training. Eventually, around 36 ABY - after the Dark Nest Crisis, she finally returned to her Jedi training, officially joining the Order under Master Saba Sebatyne and eventually becoming a full Jedi Knight.

In the new Canon, though? We don't know anything yet about what, if any, Jedi training she undertook after discovering her potential.

I am fairly certain that she did have Force potential. Yoda hinted that "there was another" Skywalker that can bring an end to the Sith rule. A normal being wouldn't have been able to do that.

will find out in the film if its ever touched on since the EU is now non canon. however considering her lack of tolerance as someone raised with alderaanian mannerisms, not likely. shes more likely to run off with prince charming, his pet carpet and that bucket of bolts first.

Obi-Wan said Luke was the last hope but Yoda responded with "There is another". So yes she did have Force potiential she could have very well been in Luke's place but Bail wanted to bring her to Alderaan and Obi-Wan went with Luke. The two could have easily been swapped depending if Bail and his wife wanted a son. Obi-Wan was going to be on Tatooine either way.

Yes. We see this in ESB when she's able to hear his call in the Force. Also, it's never been officially canonized, but one common theory I've seen online about how Leia is able to remember "images and feelings" pertaining to her mother is because she has a natural affinity for Force empathy (which further explains how she heard Luke in ESB) which allowed her to sense Padme's emotions in the womb.

In the Legends canon, she actually becomes a Jedi later in her life, after she retires from politics.

Not only in ESB, but also in ROTJ when she is able to tell from Endor that Luke made it out of the exploding Death Star alive. Han says he is sure he made it out alive, and Leia answers she knows because she feels it.

Also, in ROTJ when Luke revealed to her they were siblings she displayed some force intuition, and again when the Death Star was destroyed, Han tries to re-assure her that Luke escaped, and she again used her connection to the force to confirm that he had indeed escaped.

I would also guess, since in the most recent trailer for The Force Awakens Luke again is giving his ROTJ speech that Leia likely did undertake Jedi training, as it would be weird if she was there an had no training while they reconnect to they family being strong in the force.
