So how does the heat transfer form the light sabers blade not burn jeids's hands?

Erm, what?

 

He wants to know how the super hot plasma blade doesn't burn the Jedi or Sith when holding their own lightsaber, simply by the immense amount of heat energy radiating from the blade itself.

 

Or he's wondering why the heat conductive materials making up the hilt don't absorb and transfer the heat to the wielder's hands.

Well first who says the exterior of the handle is of a heat conductive material? Second who says the "blade" comes in contact with it? Even if the exterior is conductive the blade itself does not seem to actually make contact with the exterior portion of the hilt. Also a simple travel to Wookiepedia would show you this...

 

The weapon consisted of a blade of pure plasma emitted from the hilt and suspended in a force containment field. The field contained the immense heat of the plasma, protecting the wielder, and allowed the blade to keep its shape

 

A lightsaber blade was a mass-less form that neither radiated heat nor expended energy until it came into contact with something solid.

 

When cutting through dense material, the immense electromagnetic field generated by the arc caused resistance rather than letting solid matter enter and interrupt the arc. This gave the blade a feeling of being solid when immersed in dense material. Rarely, some solid materials could actually pass through the electromagnetic field and short out the arc. Other electromagnetic energy fields and coherent energy were also repelled by lightsabers' arcs. These include most force fields, blaster bolts, and other lightsaber blades

 

So it is a form of energetic plasma but the field that surrounds the beam acts has the function of only allowing heat to be transferred via direct physical contact.

Dont try to use physics to explain a lightsaber, an electromagnetic field around a blade would arc outwards getting gradually weaker, not act as some solid fixture that's almost indescribably thin and contained.

 

Real life physics should never be applied to Star Wars.

Ah well as said above, the idea is that it doesn't give off heat until it comes into contact with something.

 

The reason? Space magic, and lets leave it at that.

A lightsaber has to be created by a force user. By communing with the force the Jedi are capable of being guided by it in the creation of their lightsaber. Some Jedi, like Jaden, were never given instruction on how to build one. The force itself led him to his lightsaber's creation. If the force is the closest equivalent to magic in the star wars universe then there's only one conclusion on why the heat doesn't burn the user' hand or why the beam can remain solid in the first place.

I never said no one else can pick it up and use it. I said the force leads the jedi to creating lightsabers. Han Solo used Luke's Lightsaber. He didn't create in. In other words the process a lightsaber is created prevents the lightsaber from hurting anyone who uses it. Lightsabers are created with the force. ;)

1) Pretty sure there's nothing outside of a vacuum (heat being transmitted via radiation in a vacuum) that won't (eventually) conduct heat. So long as enough heat is actually being absorbed into a material.

That, and one of the most well known materials to absorb heat being the most common component material for lightsabers - metal.

 

2) Only someone who knows absolutely nothing about the in-universe components and design of a lightsaber, much like the OP seems to be.

Not to forget, an EM field wouldn't do anything to shield the wielder from the heat.

That's why my inner-child leads the way when it comes to lightsaber blades - They're magical.
