Why so long for a response?

Because you have to understand something. Due to a HOST of different factors the playerbase of this game is like a raw nerve. Exposed one or another. If BW says nope, not working right, nerf, they piss peeps off. If they say yep, working as intended, they piss people off.

Reality: The player base is kind of riled up right now and just about every move the BW makes is going to have backlash.

Because they don't have one to give.

It's either working as intended and they're laughing at all the forum idiots screaming about it or it's not and they're gonna keep quiet about it until they can stealth nerf it.

Just because forum people don't like something doesn't mean that it's wrong and/or deserves an official response.

Waiting to see which answer will cause less of a riot.

"yes it is!"= Arg what are you trying to do ruin the games economy raw raw raw!

"no its not" = Arg why cant you make your game and release it without any bugs raw raw raw!

Or possibly option 3: Wait until they've banned all the *actual* exploiters before saying yes or no so there will be less crying all around.

Are the current slot machine drop rates intended or not? Why is this taking so long to answer?

Why does it matter? Use them if you want. If they change the jack pot odds, then they won't pay off as much. If they don't change the odds, the payoffs will remain the same. What difference does it make?

This^^^

People just want a reason to keep being angry right now and there are so many problems to be angry about that people are lashing out about everything.

The Community is toxic right now and so many people are doing anything they can to add to that because they just wanna see it all burn, they love the chaos and the anarchy they cause.

It may be a good thing if the SWTOR TEam just locked all of the threads in every forum and no one was able to post a thing anywhere for a couple days. Announce it to us, tell us that All threads except Customer Support and PTS are going to be locked for the weekend starting at noon EST on Friday. Give the community time to just calm down a bit and the devs time to focus on fixing the bugs. and glitches.

Anything they say about these slot machines is going to polarize the community and right now we are all mad at each other, that is ok for them. No matter what they say about the slots people in the community are going to direct the full fury of the forums at the Dev team. That is the last thing they want right now, I'd put money on that one.

Gack, I know this is totally a tin-foil hat fantasy, but if BioWare in 2014 hired a developer or manager who is secretly working for a rival game and is doing every sneaky thing they can to destroy the SWTOR subscriber base, it would explain a lot.

Really? Because these slots being anti-pay2win reputation wise is making me want to subscribe MORE.
