@Tait Headhunter's Body Armor jetpack bug

The jetpack jets do not fire off from the correct area as shown below, I hope this is an easy fix.

Also:

Probably the closest thing to Boba Fett's armor we've gotten and the cape clips like a mother****** whenever you move. Doesn't even look like the cape is rigged as a free flowing piece of cloth, but as a solid piece of cardboard stuck to your side.

Not sure how bad it is on other body types, but Male 3 looks horrendous.

Doesn't help that this thing is a legacy set and it actually has some use. I cringe at this every time my right arm swings back as I'm moving. I really hope this can be fixed because this was a set I was really looking forward to for some of my Bounty Hunters, but this is really disgusting to look at.

And before people go screaming that BW is on Christmas break (This seems to be the trend this week) , yeah I realize this probably won't get looked at until the new year.

Update: The headhunter helmet also doesn't have voice modulation.

Edit: Some more bonus pictures for those so inclined:

I didn't make a note of which armors exactly, but I've noticed that effect from other armors as well. Also, a few armors that I thought used the jetpacks (the Underwater Adventurer/Explorer) don't seem to do so anymore, and I expected the Eidolon one to do so and it doesn't. I've seen reports of others not not working as expected also.

Maybe a dev should check on which armors are supposed to use jetpacks for Rocket Boots and give us an official list (or add something to the item notes or something that would be better than trial and error). Bonus points for making the list before testing each armor, and then making sure each works as intended.

Another bump of sadness cause I would like this armor fixed.

Well, I just recently made a thread starting a list with the ones that I have and are broken after I noticed the one on my Mandalorian Clansman chestpiece suddenly stopped working.

Added this one to the list. If you know of any others (even if just recolors or the working ones if any) I'll gladly add them,

It's working fine on my end.

May take pics later to better illustrate.

It used to always work fine for me too  bottom two exhausts during Rocket Boost and all four exhausts while self-healing. Then suddenly one day, it started doing the hot heels (and this was right from the start of the session, it wasn't like it changed during the session).

It actually has put me off of backpack style armors.

Working fine for me. See below:

Death From Above

I assume we're discussing the same thing.

Yep, that's the one we're talking about. And until recently they did exactly that. No longer...

Hmmm, seems to indicate it might be something on my end which disables them somehow... lemme check something...

[cloinking in background...]

nope, that weren't it either... after your eye candy post a couple a weeks ago I'd started fiddling myself again with ini settings. And having encountered a setting better left alone on my rig I tried again after letting the game create a new one from scratch... alas, twas not to be

From left to right, Self-Heal, Death From Above, Rocket Boost. Hot-heels everytime

Try this from this thread. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=689204

I have discovered a fix for the Contractor's Chestguard (and other models):-

In graphics settings, you need to activate “high” under “character level of detail”.

What’s strange about this is that other models work on a low setting. The Black Market Chestguard, for example, displays the jetpack animation on a low setting. Why this works on low, but not others, is anyone’s guess. They appear to use the same animations.

It might fix your issue.

:ph_thank_you: That does indeed 'fix' most of them but not all of them and not completely.

Some chests have a distorted (split) exhaust flame on the right exhaust, other(s) it had no effect at all either way.

I'm much saddened by this because this means that we will likely never ever see this get fixed seeing as there is a partly working fix possible. :( :( very sad....

Anyways, I'm now reconstructing my list to just mention on which setting it does work, and also indicating which ones have a distorted exhaust.

Nevertheless, thanks for pointing me to that tip. At least I now can start using some of them again.

As I also mention in the listing post, I can only verify this on chests I have myself. So any additions for non-listed chests are most welcome. Seeing you started this topic, I assume that the one you mentioned, does not work in either setting? (for now I have marked it as such, if this is wrong please let me know)

NOTE: Listing post still under construction. Will remove this notice when ready.

I play on ultra high settings thanks to the improved graphics card I need for Inquisition so even on ultra settings the Jet pack still fires from the back but not connected.

Two more armor sets with a jet pack on the back:

Rakata Supercommando ( Self-Healing )

Rakata Supercommando ( Death From Above )

Rakata Supercommando ( Rocket Boost )

Campaign Supercommando ( Self-Healing )

Campaign Supercommando ( Death From Above )

Campaign Supercommando ( Rocket Boost )

The first one is working as intended, while the other one is working as it always has... For almost three years now.

I gave up on the idea of ever seeing it fixed. :(

Okay, updated/reconstructed my original post. and added the new additions.

Please let me know (in the other topic or via PM) if you have any additions (please mention for both detail settings)

Also, I am very curious to find out what the effect of this setting is when others are viewing your character. (more later on this)

EDIT: As I suspected, this 'fix' is no real fix, every other player who does not have the Character Detail setting on high, will still see the hot-heels exhausts regardless of the fact yours are on high. Surprisingly, if your own setting is set to low, and another viewer has the setting set on high, the viewer will see the exhausts appearing as intended while you see the bugged appearance. So this is strictly a viewer-only 'fix'

It should be easy easy fix to switch the jetpack animation, no?

Probably not as easy as making females wearing the Regal Appearance Miniskirt use the female model in previews and cut scenes, and that's been broken for like seven months now.

[Not trying to derail your thread, my BH is my primary alt, and I had spent a lot of time tcollecting chest pieces with jet packs, so I want this fixed asap as well]
