Vengeance or Immortal for paired gameplay

This is both a question on which spec to go for PVE and also about general skills for the Juggernaut. I'm playing with a friend, using a new juggernaut while they use an Assassin. I'm divided between which discipline to go with, as I wanna be an effective part of the pairing we're playing. Did the first flashpoint after the tutorial, and I found myself not as tanky as I'd like with Vengeance. Now, I know Vengeance is meant to be a sustained DPS bruiser; but I'm wondering if I shouldn't instead go Immortal.

Would I be more helpful pure tanking on Immortal spec, or can make a stronger team as damage dealers through flashpoints and heroics with the Vengeance Spec? I'm pretty sure my friend is using Deception Assassin as they're using the stealth a lot. So yeah, should I be going immortal to keep them protected?

On that note, how is the aggroing ability of an Immortal Juggernaut? Obviously I'm not going to be very useful if I can't keep the assassin safe. and I haven't touched this game in almost a year, so I don't know how much has changed for the Juggernaut other than reading a bit about Rage being more burst damage focused than AoE?

Also, to add to my decision, I want to be able to protect my friend's assassin; can I do that reliably with Vengeance? Hm, I guess I'm just repeating the same question, aren't I?

Anyway, I have another question, about the early level skills for the Juggernaut. How useful are the Sith Warrior skills on later level juggernauts? Skills like saber sweep, Smash, Force Scream, Vicious Slash, and Ravage? Which of these should I focus less on and which of these are mainstay abilities? The only one of these I've been more or less setting aside is Force Scream, which I put on my third quickbar and rarely use. I'd like to know so I'm not wasting space or effort with junk skills; as in the heat of things it's a bit hard to remember that one skill to get a little damage where as waiting for one more basic attack would give me the rage for a better combo.

It is pretty much a matter of personal preference, especially since Khem Val can already act as your groups tank. Just make sure your friend remembers to send him in first before fights that look difficult so that he will get first strike and get the aggro.

If your 2nd is going deception than he should be a single target dps. They should wait in the shadows until you are ready for them to start dps.

At lvl 38 in using Force Charge, Smash, Force Scream, Aegis, Crushing Blow. Using riposte anytime before Crushing Blow then after it to keep defense buff up. Master Strike, Unleashed, Disruption and Force Choke I keep for CC/breaks or finishers. With Quin I can Solo anything using those 4-6 abilities. Allows me to easily keep buffs and debuff a up.
