MiaowZedong
So we'll notice longer queues in GSF?

Saul
I hope it has joystick support, it should. Even the old dos versions had it. They're using the "special edition" versions of the games which sounds like they're using the Windows 95 updated versions that were upgraded with the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter graphics. So it should have full joystick support.
Ramalina
This will be nice, assuming it works with modern computers and flightsticks. Pretty sure I saw my old X-Wing users manual a few weeks ago when I was digging around in my bookshelf.
Verain
3:1 odds that joystick support will get cut or turned into d-pad emulation only They wouldn't do something like that. This game lacks joystick support for understandable reasons. Man I remember showing TIE Fighter to my dad. He absolutely LOVED old school Red Baron in the arcade, and while he never got into TIE Fighter, he really liked watching it. Such a game.
ALaggyGrunt
Hopefully they set up the classic versions in DOSBox, like they do with other DOS games. For nostaglic reasons, some people just like the old 320x240x8 graphics and MIDI music.
Verain
Goodness 320x240. "Mode X". Man, that is some old school. To get that mode you had to go to mode 13h, which was 320x200, and then start IN and OUTing the damned ports to the stupid VGA! Heady times indeed. ALaggyGrunt
They have got both versions. Hopefully they get a bunch more of the Xwing series up. Week-long queue times, here we come!
Ramalina
"Please check your joystick and make sure it is plugged in." I'm travelling and about 950 miles away from my joystick. So apparently there IS joystick support of some sort. That's on the 1998 versions, I'll have to see if the '93 version does that too. Edit: 1993 version works with a mouse, but flying it with a mouse is fairly horrendous (I flew with a stick back in the day, and GSF habits are not a good thing in X-wing). ALaggyGrunt
DOSBox supports a joystick with a physical CD version of Xwing I found a while ago. I don't think the Xbox gamepad is going to cut it at higher difficulty levels on these games, though. The other thing is it had me firing with the A button. zaskar
Joystick support is only on the 1998 version of the games, no dosbox support. Both titles hate my thurstmaster warthog but are fine with the cougar. I have no idea why.
