Bravedave Posted December 24, 2011 Share Posted December 24, 2011 Well guys, just been playing and monging out like you do... and I started thinking about Swoop Races... Was thinking about Episode one if I'm honest, along with the good old KOTOR swoop races... Do you guys think it would be cool to have like, maybe teams, or even guild swoop racing squads, then maybe monthly or even weekly, have huge server guild racing competitions, with the team winning the competition winning prizes etc... But also, for people who aren't interested in racing, it would possibly be worthwhile for 1 of 2 reasons, turning up and talking to other members of society, socialising... or, maybe put some kind of betting tool on it, so the non racers can bet on a team as they wish... Just think it would be a nice alternative too the game really... I'm probably wasting my time writing this, but heck, just thought it would be an awesome feature worth mentioning Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
CivicTiger Posted December 25, 2011 Share Posted December 25, 2011 Yep this sounds like a great idea to me! Definitely have a betting system, aswell as a buy-in system.. There should be public and closed races.. public for everyone, closed for guilds in the theme of events. So if you're guild wants to buy into the closed race, they also pick a driving team. Rather then just having one racer do the whole thing, it's much better (and competitive) to have maybe 5 racers? all with 2/3 laps each or something. All the buy-in money goes towards the 'pot' and is then split between the winning teams and racers along with in-game items generated from the 'closed event' - just like loot. Doing this is really competitive, and could be social like Shigeru said in the fact that people can come and watch the races, do all their social perks/tools from questing from in the crowd, it would look really good! One of the many things that bother me about this game is my Jedi Knight is a butcher , it would be nice to have activities that didn't center around killing stuff. Have different crafters be able to craft speeder mods to make ur swoop faster and/or faster at changing direction. Make the schemtics super-rare drops. Then have leaderboards at each of the swoop tracks where the top 10 players names are listed for everyone who walks into the swoop race office to see. High_Voltage Posted December 25, 2011 Share Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) they should make Pod racing, and base it abit like the modifications you have for your personnel ship. like weapons, paint, engine type, cockpit type, engine sounds, color of the electricity and make it you can send your companion to repair, upgrade and create the pod then add racing types with 10 player races, deathmatch, gate crasher, traditional race. this would be an EPIC idea oh my god...
