    New PVP System

Alright guys, I know there has been alot of moaning and stuff regarding PVP, and I'm not saying the new PVP system is totally rubbish, this is just my opinion, so, if your going to read this and post something witty or insulting, please don't bother, take your hate to the next thread and move on... thanks in advance! Now, I understand a little equality was needed in PVP, some classes were indeed OP, just from pressing a button repeatedly *Cough* Bounty Hunter *Cough*... But the way the old system, well... it worked... you got points based on effort... The day before yesturday, I logged on, did an Alderaan PVP game, I was the only person guarding left the entire game... Because of the new system, I was able to just leave my charecter stood there, gathering points... at one point, I got that bored, I opened my web browser (I run the game in windowed mode) and googled some stuff (kept my mouse hovered over the icon in the windows tool bar, so I could monitor the game whilst I browsed the internet (only available via windows 7)). I had a couple of guys try and stealth left, I quickly dispatched all attempts/had to shout some team mates over once or twice if I thought I was gunna go down... then, the game ended, and I was stood there with 7 badges... I just thought "Wow... and all I need is 3 badges to ensure that I get something from this game..." I used to have to bust nuts in order to get 6+ badges, and I loved it! I loved seeing myself with 8 badges at the end of the game, heck, I'm by no means the best PVP player, some people thrashed me silly, but for people to turn around and say "oh my god, he just owned me because he's in BM" just isn't right, I've owned people in BM before... and been owned... if you know what your doing, it's quite simple really... and I can understand why people would want quicker and easier access to BM gear and above... they didn't need to practically give it away for free, they could have lowered the level requirements (champion @ 45, BM at 55 for example). When I got my BM and finally got 60, I loved it, I felt like I achieved something, and I didn't just sit there and play the game for days like alot of people will assume, I've got a full time job, I play at the weekend mainly, and I might do between 5-10 hours during the week... but I still got there... Look at celebs, they "work" hard for what they have, Tom Cruise has a 100k porche with bulletproof glass fitted... Britney Spears has a 400k Mercedez Benz SLR... that BM gear was my SLR... and now I'm running around, seeing people in full BM... when I literally had to bust my nuts for it... It's a gaming community, you can't just have what the next guy has for nothing, you have to earn it, because when you've finally earnt it, and you're wearing it, that's when it's most rewarding, to know that all the times you've been pee'd off because someone is trolling all over you, because of all those games you've been in, you've been playing with people who are playing so badly, that your not even sure they know what time of day it is, that when you finally hit that big 6 0, and when you can finally get your BM gear, thats when it's most rewarding... I'm sorry, but if PVP is having such a nerf, why not nerf Hard Modes? Or Nightmare modes? why don't we all just get what we want in a heart beat, oh yeah... because if you did that, what need would you have to play? yeah, there is the social aspect, but if I wanted to be social, quite frankly, I'd go to the pub... a game is for fun, I don't find it 'fun' to earn what I've been awarded, for a month later, to have everyone else in the same stuff without even batting an eye lid. Why not make it so you can get a BM piece once per week... give it a lockdown similiar to a nightmare mode, because that would make it more rewarding, not "oh, I'll just save up warzone comms and buy BM", your not exactly earning it when you can stand there and browse a website until the end of the game and get 7 commendations, and then they take the commendation requirements to get valor, wz comms and credits down from 3 badges to one! in the next game, I'll make sure I get one badge, then just run around pondering the meaning of life. Anyways, thats my little rant over, if you've got something constructive to say, by all means, open forum, say it, but keep it at that... constructive, no trolls please, thanks.
  2. See, now this is a valid reply! This is a good point Dude! thank you for your reply, however, reality is, the majority of rebs on my server are noobs.
  3. Or, would you prefer me to list every possible circumstance that could arise which would require you to leave the PVP game and go AFK for a few minutes? Lol.
  4. My own nose? Dude, I know I'm not slacking... I play PVP quite alot, and I know the routines on how to win... I've had damage of 500k before... I'm not derping, and I'm not trolling. And the baby thing was an example, not an actual statement. Ok, different scenario, what if your joining a pvp game, your game takes a little longer to load, and you get kicked because you can't leave the safety zone in time? It's happened to me in a few huttball games before I overclocked my PC. What's the solution there? spend 800 quid and get a new PC? I don't really think it's fair on BW to say/condone that.
  5. Ok, I've read the patch details, and if you get kicked/leave pvp mid-game, you can't join pvp for a 'few' minutes... (please elaborate on this time)... Now, I'm totally agreeing, if you get AFK kicked from a PVP game, fine, fair play, you should have a timer before you're allowed to play again, fair do's no argument there... But, what if something pops up, which requires you to leave the pvp game? For example, what if you're having a few games, whilst you're baby is asleep, and she wakes up, and you get her back to sleep again, but to do so, you had to quit the PVP game? I'm just stating that as an example... Now, the thing is, I very rarely leave pvp games... even if we're getting absolutely K.O'd, I'll normally stay in until the end... infact, 9/10 I'll stay in... However, there have been some games I've played, where no matter how much you instruct people, try to get people to work as a team, they just don't... prime example of this is huttball... the amount of games I've played in huttball, where players have just been derping is incredible! One game, I was literally the only one going for the ball-handler... honestly, everyone was too busy trying to do there own little fights, not paying any attention to the objective of the game... Why should I have to subject myself to that? Why should I have to join a game, with players that aren't performing the objective, then, if I choose to leave, because the people are genuinely terrible, I am now forced to stay? Because that's what you're doing BW, you're stating "Now, if you join a game, then leave because the players you are with are derping like a bunch of meth heads, you will not be allowed to join a game for 'x' amount of time." That concerns me, because now, I either have to wait 'x' amount of time, or simply watch my score fizzle into nothing because of the amount of losses I'll have to put myself through... This isn't a troll, this isn't me having a tangent. I'm just genuinely concerned towards being forced to play with people who have no care in the world about what they're doing... I'm sure others must be aswell???
  6. The only time I can't kill a Sage/Sorc is when I'm not attacking them.
  7. When people say "Romance leads to the Dark Side", or "Jealousy Leads to the Dark Side", I try and have a different conception to this theory... To me, when someone refers to falling to the Dark Side and Emotions being an integral part, from what I've seen, it comes down to how well people can control their emotions, in some cases, emotions have saved people from the darkside! Look at Bastilla and Revan, Bastilla fell to the Darkside and Revan, through telling Bastilla he loved her, came back to the Lightside, and ultimately used her powers to defeat Malaks forces... Nomi Sunrider is also a prime example, her husband was killed, so not only did she fall in love, but she also experienced hate towards the people who killed him, she didn't fall to the Dark Side, it all comes down to resisting the urge to follow your emotions, not the emotions themselves which CAN lead to the darkside.
  8. It would be interesting to find out, I mean, it could be like Bastilla and Revans Marriage, they were part of the order, but essentially exiled for having children/being married. It needs to be done!!!!!!!1
  9. Hey guys, I've hit 10k Affection, killed the emporer and I think I'm pretty far into the Kira story quest chain... I'm going to put the rest into spoiler tags, but I'm not really revealing anything about the story in detail, it's a general question...
  10. Ok dude, I've completed the storyline anyways, completed it whilst the bug was still in place.
  11. Just something I think would be pretty nice would be to swap whether the Legacy name comes before or after your charecters name. My charecter has a Japanese name, and I have used a "Clan" name for my legacy name, just thought it would be nice to be able to change it so you can either it either before or after your name, at the players discretion really...
  12. Depends how you look at it really, and what spec you are playing. I am a focus sentinal. 2x Gap closers 2x Slows 2x Stun (Force stasis has to be channeled, Awe loses stun upon being hit) Damage mitigation = useless in more than a one on one fight. Problem isn't so much in the class, it's in the players. I'm fine in WZ However, put me in Ilum and it's not going to happen, I can do upwards of 300k in Warzones. I've had 54 kills 2 deaths in one Warzone. Ilum PVP you just get constantly CC'd and spanked. Our maximum range move is the leap, we have nothing else, so we have to literally get directly infront of maybe 30+ people and just hope we can kill one person before 30 people kill us. Put us up against a BH and you may as well kiss your *** goodbye tbh 9 times out of 10, unless the BH is derping he's gunna kill you. Just Spam tracer missile like you have no tomorrow.
  13. This is a potential spolier, so don't click the button unless your comfortable. (It's regarding end-game content with Kira)
  14. +100 we are very much like rogues. Oh wait, nope, thats smugglers. We're like rogues in every means apart from, oh, we can only cloke for an amazing four seconds, then I'm being mashed again. Why it's fair for me to face people wearing Heavy armour, and they can heal themselves is beyond me, heck, if my DPS threshhold was higher, maybe I'd understand, because, so far, all I've got is: A) I have to cover distance between myself and enemy, yeah, I can jump however, should the enemy CC, or Sprint away from me, or Slow me, well, I'm essentially having to close that distance again, oh wait, I can't. B) If I cover that distance, I then have to fight through A) there armour, and praying they don't have heals I have to fight through there heals to. C) Constantly being CC'd. Because we have to get upclose and personal with out opponents I'm a prime target to be constantly CC'd and then killed. lol at one point I got CC'd then I used my CC break. then I got CC'd again... but just before I was CC'd I managed to blow my Guarded by the force (was outnumbered and was going to leg it)... and then, just when I thought I could run, I was CC'd AGAIN! and my Gaurded by the force wore off, then next thing you know I'm a heap on the floor. When every class has a CC, some classes actually have 2 CCs! what are you meant to do, when you blow your CC breaker, then, you've got EVERY class applying atleast one CC. If you've got three people on you, thats 3+ CC's.
  15. So, if he just put SPOILER, who would read it? because no one likes spoilers, at least he had the decency to notify people about what the spoiler was in regards of. Quite frankly, I don't do FP's at all until I hit 50. However seeing someone post saying Revan is in an FP made me do it, because I wanted to see him. quite frankly, if you don't wanna see a spolier it's simple, don't click the link.
  16. Sentinals are awesome for DPS. Fact. It's not about what the "best" class is for DPS, it's about Rotation, and blowing the right moves at the right time. I spent about 20 minutes the other day actually going through each skill I had, planning a rotation, planning what sequence the moves can be blown in, and also back-up sequences. In the end, I ended up having to use two skills bars, and I have two layouts for my moves, one for PVE and one for PVP. If your sentinal, be proud, your part of a small community.
  17. 1.7k comments later... bioware provides a fix!
  18. Hey guys, I was told by some folks that at level 40(ish) you actually get to free Revan... I've been doing the story, done a few flashpoints, and I'm now level 44... just wondered when do we get the oppertunity to rescue Revan? I've done one of the flashpoints where we spoke to Meetra... sorry I'm being very vague, can't remember the name of the FP at all lol =/
  19. Well, if your close enough to be pulled to their spawn then your too close in the first place. Players need to be given a chance to fight back, not be spawn camped like crazy.
  20. The way the moves are laid out, for me as a Sentinal, I've managed to establish a pretty decent rotation between snaring the enemy, blowing a few moves, stasising the enemy to allow my moves a little time to recuperate, then blowing the entire shibang, cool downs, everything... Just hit 40 on sentinal, and for me, 1-v-1 I'm fairly confidant in my abilities in pvp, more than one, well, it's very rare that I can come out on top unless I have all of my defence cool downs + a medpack... as for in PVE, standard mobs I can easily solo, however, 1 strong + 1 regular I struggle... and as for an elite, lol, he'd blow his nose with me.
