When are we getting our "traditional" Jedi robe???

Recommended Posts

why are you trying to make me an "inventor" of the traditional jedi robe term and classification? Sure, okay, I can call it prequel or iconic Jedi robes. I didn't take the term "traditional" out of nowhere.

There's no actual reason to be against putting these robes in the game, but they find you annoying. So instead they try to marginalize you and obfuscate with petty definition debates. You should ignore it as best you can.

I agree that Atris "robes" would work for a male. That's what's nice about jedi wear: it's wearable by everyone. I'm very pleased we're getting Atris; now if only they could put an actual robe on it. Or if they took the shoulders off Ajunta's and put a robe on that. Hood down until toggle.

What?

How is the Atris set not "male friendly"? They aren't particularly 'revealing' in any way and they don't have any "female only" restriction on them.

It's not EXACTLY what Alec wants, therefore it CANNOT possibly be traditional Jedi attire.

That is all.

Atris does fit, i never said it doesn't. Just sad we can't get a simple stuff that's more male-friendly.

Alec, you are the man! Besides, the Relnex robe, are kidding me? That thing has Bill Belichick sleeves and is skin tight!!!! I'm on the same boat with you Alec, I just want that somewhat baggy robe from KOTOR 2, with the tunic and robe on top. Why won't they release it??? This would be so profitable for them!

It doesn't make any sense to me. They had KOTOR/KOTOR 2 with traditional JEDI ROBES. They had the movies with traditional JEDI ROBES. THEN with SWTOR in between, their like NAH JUST RELEASE SOME ARMOR!

YES!! So good to meet a fellow crusader. I hope I will receive a contineous support from you, friend!

Back to topic. Reading through "Revan" I found that, yes, Atris did wore traditional robe. "Traditional robe of Jedi archivist". This is not "our" Jedi robe asked for in the thread, still. Stop playing silly. All people crying for actual, proper, iconic, prequel, traditional, Jedi robes really seek this simple, humble and and combat ready appearance of a generic , nameless Jedi who are mostly represented in almost the same outfits in majority of sources. Hit "Jedi" into google images, and while you get something "off" every few pictures there is this one robe design which is present on the MAJORITY of the pictures.

I need pants, not a cone-dress. I am a warrior, not a scholar. And this is only gonna look like another stupid, tucked in tunic / tunic with no matching pants.

Again.. You are completely right. I just want a TSL looking robe for god sakes. Is it too much to ask for a Jedi robe? lol. Alec I will battle with you till we get our robes!

You admit that the Atris set is "traditional robe".

Yet, once again what even YOU admit is "traditional Jedi robes" are not EXACTLY what you want and therefore CANNOT possibly be traditional Jedi garments, even though you admit that they are.

You claim to want "traditional Jedi garments" but BW HAS given these to us.

You have found something, no matter how miniscule, wrong with each and every one of them. I'd be willing to bet, though, that you can make EXACTLY what you want using parts of the traditional Jedi robes that BW HAS given us.

This again.. *palm*... *face*... sigh.

I think certain proponents are overestimating the community interest in these "traditional Jedi robes". To me, those robes are drab, plain, filthy-looking and not very aesthetically pleasing to say the least. For it to be a big seller on the cartel market, it would have to be assumed that a large chunk of the TOR playerbase belongs to cosplaying Star Wars fanatic genre who would want their avatars to look exactly like the Jedis in the movies. Yeah.. somehow I wouldn't bet on that assumption given the plethora of more interesting costuming options available out there.

Not just movies, mate. Comics, books (visual descriptions or accompanying illustrations are there!), video games.

But it is true - no iconic set for any class (even Boba Fett's copy-paste) will be as popular as another bikini for the commando with the big cannon. Even though I see at least one Jedi in a warzone game, who is wearing a very Jedi-like set (Relnex, Ambitious Warrior, Valiant) there is a couple more nudists.

But this is a Star Wars game and universe and these robes were teased in the promotional material big time!

But Star Trek online lets you purchase uniforms from different eras. Hardly a problem. In fact, the classic Star Trek ones are very popular. Even if not primary item set, I think players will just have a set of them anyway.

Now think about all the newcomers wanting to check out the only star wars mmo and get their Jedi experience after the episode vii hype shows around! Yes, Luke is wearing traditional Jedi robe according to some leaked pics.

Lol.. When/where has BW given us these "traditional Jedi garments"? The only thing close to it (WITHOUT ARMOR) is the Relnex (Bill Belichick/skin tight outfit/clipping issues) and the Jolee Bindo robe. If anything, the Jolee Bindo robe is the closest thing to it. Again.... This is what all the Jedi robe lovers want (including myself).

NOW PLEASE tell me. How can we piece those together with what BW has given us?

The top six appear to have armor and I think the valiant Jedi fits the bill for those.

The bottom four could be made using:

The Peacekeeper set for heavy armor wearers

http://tor-fashion.com/peacekeeper/

The Blade master set or Battleborn set for medium armor wearers

http://tor-fashion.com/blade-master/

http://tor-fashion.com/battleborn/

The omenbringer's robe with almost any pair of pants for light armor wearers

http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/gear/22129/omenbringers-robe

http://warpedproductions.echonetwork.net/screenshots/robemodel1.jpg

That looks a lot like http://i.imgur.com/KPmxsfh.png. It shouldn't be too hard to find a pair of boots and belt if you feel it necessary.

It also looks a lot like the humble hero set.

If you have to have the hood down, then the Relnex set would seem to me to fit the bill.

The Jolle Bindo set seems to me to fit this bill.

I'm sure you will find SOME reason to dismiss each and every one of these, as they are not EXACTLY what Alec, and apparently you, want. Despite the fact that they are not identical, exact copies of your examples, I think most reasonable people would find that they are "traditional Jedi" attire according to your examples of "traditional Jedi" attire. .

I appreciate the time and effort you put into that comment, but none of those are even CLOSE to looking anything like the ones I put in. There is a difference, the robes they have in now are skin tight and most of them don't even have long sleeves! None of them are baggy in a way. None of them are baggy like the Markos Ragnos robe. I like what they did what that robe. Besides, if you try to color those robes, they will not match right at all.

They also look prehistoric compared to the ones in KOTOR 2.. Which shouldn't be because KOTOR 2 was obviously before SWTOR time period...

They're of nasty quality, too. There is nothing wrong in requesting updated robes for 2014 from the 2008 -like version and without forced hoods. Without the belts around the waist which give the outer robe a paper-thin effect. Had to add someone to ignore again.

As I said, since they are not EXACTLY what you and Alec want, you both found SOME reason to dismiss them as they CANNOT POSSIBLY be "traditional Jedi" attire since they are not EXACTLY what you and Alec want.

I'll suggest this to Alec again and to you: stop asking for "traditional Jedi" attire, since it have been proven and shown that this attire already exists in game, and ask BW to cater specifically to you, as you and Alec seem to feel that only the two of you can determine what is "traditional Jedi" attire.

I completely agree with this. All I want is UPDATED robes. That's what it is too, the quality of the robes are not that good at all. They are so thin and there are clipping issues with it..

They don't even give us Jedi robes from NPCs for some reason. :/ http://i.ytimg.com/vi/0iNGw6L_jlw/0.jpg http://i.imgur.com/MRmEl.jpg This would be great if red / yellow bits were colorable.

I love Nariel's robe! I would definitely use Dark Brown/Brown or Brown/White with that.. IF only they would kinda release it...

Here's something. Lots of designs - really decent - that didn't even make it into the game for no reason. I like the 5th one in the third row from the bottom. Shame that from all this stuff Biowared passed on the simplistic ones.

Wow.. There are quite a few on there I really like. I like the bottom row, three from the right. It looks like the Relnex ,(probably is) but it looks BAGGIER, which is what it needs! And if it had the hood down, that would be perfect.

Relnex set is just like it only it lacks the crotch cloth (which adds a cool effect, but unfortuantely, is missing from Relnex'. It's present on battle expulsor).
