Incredibly biased and hilariously mis-quoted.

Especially the stuff from Karpyshyn, who always said Revan was never meant to be on the level of Sidious or Caedus, yet this guy only took the sentences that made them almost seem equal.

The guys powerful, great. He's not as good as everyone makes him out to be, this is getting seriously annoying.

Could ignore it, just a suggestion.

You guys see quotes and immedietly think Revan was "Top Sith Lord", I really pitty this line of thinking, Revan was good better than Malak, better than many Sith Lords, yet he wasnt "Top of the List"

Try to see it as it is a research on actual Revan feats and Story.

I don't even have to look to know that it would be incredibly biased.

The article compares him to Sidious and Caedus.

God, I thought the Revan fanboys had died out. Ugh. He's honestly not that great. In the end, Revan was an insane, genocidal Dark-Sider who fooled himself to think he had mastered both the dark and the light. Who had believed himself to be one of the greatest Jedi/Sith/things to ever live-- and yet he fell before the Emperor, whom the Jedi Knight, one less aged, and with less mastery in both sides in the force, was able to defeat. Revan was nothing but a pawn-- an important role at one point, but a simple pawn nonetheless.

Not to mention, and yes, I will continue: When he was a pure Jedi, he fell easily. He was an awful excuse for a Jedi who could not adhere to the Code or the Jedi Counil. This would lead to the Jedi Civil War. Moving on from that, as a Sith, he let his guard down on his own apprentice, could not lead his army, and failed to command his forces correctly. He was terrible. Albeit, he was good in a one-on-one fight, he had little-to-no cunning which is necessary for a Sith.

Revan was actually like they say about him, he was powerful, he did have "all in" Brains, Strengh, Balls. He does derseve this gets sticked, he earned it.

Revan didn't earn anything. He's a figment of the imagination.

He's not as powerful as we see him portrayed in the games: he was a blank slate in order to appeal to the gamer. He had to be capable of everything the gamer wanted to do. He was a power fantasy. I think many people who liked his edgy mask and hood and think he's 'omg da best' need to think about his situation more logically.

Yes! Feel proud Revan. All those wars you fought, all the things you've done, has earned you a stickied thread!

I don't recall Mr. Karpyshyn comparing Revan with Sidious and Caedus in public. He also avoids ranking characters in private conversations with fans.

Do you have a quote?

God, I thought the Revan fanboys had died out. Ugh. He's honestly not that great. In the end, Revan was an insane, genocidal Dark-Sider who fooled himself to think he had mastered both the dark and the light.

Revan gained ample experience with both sides of the Force and he is the only Force-user to achieve perfect balance in manipulating the Force using both sides.

You make it sound like as if loosing to the Emperor is an indication of Revan not being an extraordinarily powerful Force-user. Revan is an extraordinarily powerful Force-user by all accounts.

Hero of Tython managed to defeat Emperor Vitiate with support from his allies, most notably Lord Scourge and T7-01. In addition, Emperor Vitiate was systematically weakened before this development; before he could regain his strength fully, he was targeted for assassination and plan worked.

Not to mention, and yes, I will continue: When he was a pure Jedi, he fell easily.

Revan didn't fell easily, Emperor Vitiate broke him and turned him to the dark side when the two met each other for the first time.

He was an awful excuse for a Jedi who could not adhere to the Code or the Jedi Counil.

Knights of the Old Republic: Campaign Guide reveals that Revan was a role-model Jedi.

This would lead to the Jedi Civil War.

Emperor Vitiate is responsible for orchestrating the Jedi Civil War, not Revan.

Moving on from that, as a Sith, he let his guard down on his own apprentice, could not lead his army, and failed to command his forces correctly. He was terrible. Albeit, he was good in a one-on-one fight, he had little-to-no cunning which is necessary for a Sith.

You are so much misinformed about Revan that it is not even funny.

Revan didn't let his guard down when his apprentice betrayed him. A Jedi Strike Team boarded his flagship and cornered him, Darth Malak took advantage of this situation.

In addition, Revan was a brilliant tactician. He led the Republic to victory in the Mandalorian Wars and he would have conquered the Republic itself after creating his own Empire/powerbase if his apprentice had not betrayed him. By all accounts, he was very smart, calculative and intelligent individual.

I actually LOL'ed. Revan was anything but the model Jedi, lets not forget the time where he fell to the dark side... twice.

Revan always had been a model Jedi, ignoring his Sith history.

Had Revan been born a generation sooner, he might have been touted as a Jedi standard, but in light of the war started by Exar Kun, Revan's boldness in righting wrongs meets with suspicion from a progressively conservative Jedi Council. (Taken from Knights of the Old Republic: Campaign Guide)

The Jedi High Council of Revan's era was the real culprit for not properly adhering to the ideals of the Jedi Order. Jedi were supposed to be the guardians of the Republic and prevent disasters but the Jedi High Council refused to help the Republic when the Mandalorians invaded it with a mighty military force and openly committed genocide in various worlds. More proof of the stupidity of this Council is apparent form the story of Zayne Carrick who was targeted for assassination by some paranoid Jedi Masters. Heck, those Jedi Masters literally slaughtered some other apprentices in cold blood in a gathering.

After eliminating the threat of Darth Malak, when Revan attempted to rejoin the Jedi Order and reform it with his newfound wisdom and understanding of the Force, the Jedi High Council once again snubbed him and cast him aside. End result was a Jedi Order lacking in preparation to effectively tackle major threats in the galaxy and Sith Triumvirate had a field day with it, destroyed it.

Ignore his Sith history? The faults of the Jedi High Council aside, Revan demonstrated himself to be callous and ruthless during the Mandalorian Wars, the Jedi Civil War and when he attempted to commit genocide on the Sith species 300 years later. On top of that he was brash, arrogant and had a relationship with Bastila Shan.

Model Jedi? Pah. Revan was a rogue and a maverick, through and through.

Revan was ruthless and a terrible Jedi from the moment he took up arms.

His genius was knowing what his enemies would expect, so he sacrificed countless worlds in the name of taking Mandalorian lives, he was an ends justify the means Jedi, not one who followed the code even slightly.

And if Revan had lived to see the Triumvirate, Traya would have killed him herself, or hell, sent Nihilus or Sion, seeing as they both could have done it too.

Revan had no choice but to deal with the Mandalorians harshly; Mandalorians committed genocide in the worlds that fell to them and these events had an impact on Revan.

In addition, Revan wasn't being ruthless in the Jedi Civil War. His apprentice actually was being ruthless.

300 years later, Revan was not in a normal frame of mind. After enduring 300 years of worst kind of torture, no person would remain sane.

I don't recall Revan being brash and arrogant. I recall him being charismatic and wise. Yes, he had relationship with Bastilla Shan but can you fault him for this? Relationships represent natural instincts of sentient beings and feelings can develop for each other while helping each other. In-fact, Jedi Order attempted to suppress this natural instinct which often backfired. Much later, Luke Skywalker eventually realized this error in Jedi ways and permitted relationships.
