Kooziejr
Just for pugs, not rated. http://www.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/powertech/16/?build=003200320000000000000000000000000203120000000000000000000000000003200322021002120230003000000000&ver=20 This spec is truly terrible. You drop 2 of your most important survivability cooldowns and one of the most significant parts of your burst to pick up a little bit of sustained damage and a tiny increase in armour rating. Please no.
TACeMossie
Exactly what Koozie said. The things that make pyro viable are the great defensive cooldowns from Degauss + Automated Defenses (This tree seems off... those names look like the names of my VGs skills), and the burst provided by TD + Railshot. Your spec has neither. In fact, that spec is even inferior in PvE since 2.4s buff to Thermal Detonator, and if you had to use the 8/8/28 +2 utility the last 2 would go into Combust to make up for the double jugg tank + no annihilation marauder composition that somehow won the competition for which classes got into themOp. firestarter
Thank you for the reply koozie and TACeMossie! Reasoning behind this was to maximise flame burst damage. I saw this ina youtube vid and thought I´d give it a try. What would you suggest. Going full Pyro? TD yes or no? I´m still levelling the PT and not really experienced in the class. I personally use this one: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301bMZMsZfhrrdRbfcdz.3 There are a few things that are debatable there, such as Infra Red Sensors, but: I really dont like alacrity cause it occasionally screws with the PPA proc. And since the reduced cooldowns on TSO/Vent Heat rarely come into play in PvP, I needed to find somewhere to put it. My options: Flame Sweep - Really Really bad. + Endurance... pretty good but... + Defence, + Detection, -cooldown on stealth scan. And since a lot of arenas ive been in have been won from lucky stealth scans after spamming it... Thats why I grab this one. Though +Endurance is probably a better choice Oh and Koozie has a nice guide somewhere on these subforums you should have a look at, it helps a lot when getting into PvP as a PT or VG Edited April 3, 2014 by TACeMossie

Dear OP: the Pyro tree skills are negotiable depending on playstyle. AP and Tank tree points are not negotiable! http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=701510 I hope my guide helps - just watch my video for my awesome taste in music if nothing else. Myriagonvaltorix
The sad part is i've used this spec since launch (or a similiar flameburst-emphasising spec) and the first reply i see is "This is truly terrible." I've never had anyone kick me out of a raid or group because of lack of dep's BUT if you're looking to do higher level raiding or groups where the margins between failure and victory are so tight that you need every single digit of DPS don't use this spec. But if you're just doing the weekly's and your group isn't filled with a whole boatload of new guys then who cares? Know the limits of your spec and your team, be realistic and optout of joining something if you feel you'll be a detriment to the group and you'll be fine. firestarter
That would have been my next question. What would be a good PvE spec for PT? I heared about the hybrid where you get the Prototype FF in mid and then go up Pyro to get the PPA. Thing is I cannot do any ops where I have to sit hours in front of the PC. I got a one year old at home who is ruthlessly interfering my gaming schedule lol so I can do fast runs of HM Fp´s but thats it. Or quick lvl 50 Ops like EV. Sustained better than burst specs for PvE? But honestly: primarily I´m here for the PvP which although it has many flaws I love.

Sustained better than burst specs for PvE? But honestly: primarily I´m here for the PvP which although it has many flaws I love. The hybrid DPS spec was removed in 2.6 The best bet for ops is a full 4/6/36 build. Its slightly different to the one I linked above: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hzZMsZfhbrzRrffdz.3 I would say especially use this one, as the devs have stated that when they get around to giving PTs a viable PvE tree, its gonna be pyro, through buffing all the DoTs and replacing the Alacrity on Rapid Venting for Crit %. Maybe. Hopefully. Either way, its currently about 5.8% ahead of Advanced Prototype in sustained damage, though it does lack the AoE capabilities for AP. AP is also less RNG dependant and is easier to use. AP Spec: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hMhZMsMrkrRRoGGzZb.3 - The second point in Hitman can be moved into Pneumatic Boots if you want though. Finally, the spec you linked is actually partially usable in PvE. If you aren't going to go a full 36 tree build, this is the best option out there: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hMhZMsMZfhbrzRrcc.3 Notice there are 2 spare points to put into whatever you want. I personally prefer Combust for the last 2 points, since whenever I get to not-tank on my Vanguard (Im translating as I go) my guild ends up running double Guardian with no Watchman Sents to give the damage debuff out. The second best depends on how much internal/elemental damage is in the fight, but either Rebraced Armor or Degauss are your best bets.
Honortyrant
To each their own. This is the Spec I use in regular warzones. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hMbZ0cZfhrrdobffdz.

xxSHOONYxx
For SM operations where IDGAF I like to use http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301GMhrzzroZZfI0rzRrM.3 or http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301GMhrzzroMZMsMMRrRMo.3 Because Jet Charge And I actually used to run http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hMbZ0cZfI0rzRrsfdz.3 in HM ops, before I actually tested the 4/6/36 and parsed slightly higher with it. /shrug
