Players swapping between imp and rep...whats the deal?

Ever since I started playing GSF, I have been noticing that players I play against swap factions and are in my group the very next match. It always seems to be a group of players with the same name tags, but there they are...killing me in one WZ and then the next I have them in my group in the next match. What is the advantage of this? Is there some kind of exploit in play?

 

I have directly asked these players why they are doing this but no one answers.

You're being matched against same faction in some games. If the VO intro says it's a wargame or live fire exercise, that lets you know it's a same faction match. So nothing funky is going on, it just helps queues pop faster.

Some people have friends in both factions and enjoy being able to play competitively with both. Personally, I have 17 toons. Trust me, they aren't all 1 faction. I will, and I do play both sides.

If they have the same name then you are mostly likely playing against the same faction. You can tell which faction you are versing by hovering over their ships to see if they are Imperial or Republic ships.
