The damage output is not higher, but the fact that they have so many defensive buffs make it more challenging to counter (strong against stealth CC, strong against AOE, HO and pull negates many of the tools that range utilize). I've had a lot of good games, even against double mara, jugg tank, op healer setups, but the mara/AP stacking teams are both brutal and annoying to fight due to the massive amount of AOE damage and slows that are baked into both specs. Edit: It seems like most of the top teams are running some combination of triple aoe spec dps with one off tank, anyone else finding this to be true?
