  1. Operative DPS really got the shaft in this game. They went from being ridiculously OP at launch to being practically a throwaway spec. Go heals or go home. Concealment especially is a joke...completely reliant on their opener, because most of what they do out of stealth is worthless. I've referred to Scoundrels as Scroungers for so long, I almost forget what their real name is. About all they can do is pick the bones of half-dead players.
  2. Maybe we should start asking for treats after each match? The Pubs definitely have plenty of cookie cutters on hand.
  3. Shout out to Whammy. Because Smash is hard with 3 pocket healers.
  4. The above post is 100% accurate. Just to add: The vast majority of attacks in PvP are yellow damage. A few specs (MM Sniper/Carnage Mara) are heavy on white damage, but 80-90% of what you're up against in PvP is yellow. Keep in mind that crits are also a big part of PvP, so typical mitigation is secondary to HP stacking for PvP tanks. No, you're not going to come anywhere close to PvE mitigation numbers. Truth be told, while PvP mitigation finally works (it never used to at all), it still has diminished use. Most PvP tanks I know stack Endurance and roll with damage mods because when you stack mitigation, you lose just about all means to actually defend yourself. Your damage output is very, very poor. PT tanks are middle of the road as far as damage goes, and while that's not your role, it's important to be able to at least peel and cause a bit of damage.
  5. Yep, you want Endurance/Power augments then. Most attacks in PvP are yellow damage, which don't get mitigated the same way as white damage. Carnage Maras, MM Snipers, and a bit of Vengeance Jugg do a lot of white damage, but just about everything else you face in PvP is Force/Elemental/Tech...making your shields less effective. The only solution is to stack HP to get back some of your tank. PTs especially don't have the defensive CDs of other tank specs, and you're heavily reliant on passive shielding.
  6. Seems like an overambitious solution to an easy problem. Once the acid drops, a **** ton of stealth probe droids should follow, which pops them out of stealth. Those droids are all over the place in PvE areas, shouldn't be hard to implement.
  7. The solution is: play another game. It should be obvious by now that this is not a PvP-friendly game. The devs have openly stated (awhile back) that they did not anticipate how popular PvP would be in SWTOR. Consider the utter failure of Ilum. Not once, not twice, but after three revamps now. We were told there would be more OWPvP areas on Makeb (LOL). We asked for more and better maps, and we got Novarre Coast (Civil War rehash) and Ancient Hypergates (da***). Class balance is still an issue. They have essentially ignored our feedback since beta. In case the obvious still escapes you, these guys don't know what they're doing. Nothing the player base does is ever going to improve PvP in this game.
  8. This is true for PvE, but not for PvP. Mitigation (shield/absorb) for PvE, but get Endurance/Power augments for PvP.
  9. Sorry, I can't get behind this "guide". Gaming the system with gear exploits isn't exactly what I would label as helpful.
  10. Another way to look at is is... This is a video game. Your ranking means exactly zero outside of this game to anyone. It's not like you can post it on your resume or brag about it anywhere else besides guild chat and these forums. Relax. It's supposed to be fun.
  11. You misunderstood what I wrote, so I will clarify: I'm not saying that anyone better than me must be a no-life neckbeard basement dweller. Not at all. I'm saying that across the board, good or bad, PvE or PvP, those players are a significant portion of gaming demographics. Visit any ____ Con, game store, or other nerd gathering, and take a good look at the cross section of people. This stereotype exists for a reason...and those are the people actually willing to show up in public. Nevermind the ones who can't be bothered to shower or unplug themselves long enough to attend. Not ALL gamers are pigeonholed into the uber nerd/neckbeard stereotype of course, but to deny that they're a part of it is ludicrous. And I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad thing. It is what it is.
  12. If you don't like the D5 Mantis, I think you're missing the entire theme of being a BH in this game, and Star Wars in general. The Mantis is CLEARLY a predecessor to Slave I. It's not some hot rod that the Dark Council gave you, and it's not a sleek Agent ship that looks more like a luxury yacht. You stole your ship. It's supposed to be low key, beat up and utilitarian. The damn thing has a holding cell, what more could you possibly want? Best ship in the game IMHO.
  13. The only gross imbalance in this game is player expectations of it and their ability to play it. And you can quote that for truth. That amount of burst hasn't been possible in this game since the very earliest days when some players exploited Ilum to get full Battlemaster gear. Back then, Operatives were capable of true stunlocking and insane burst from stealth. You would be dead before you could even stand up, much less know what hit you. Even then it was more like 3-4 hits and not the mythical 2-shot. No single class is capable of burning down any other class in this game during the length of a stun (gear being equal). If you're getting owned that quickly, then you either need gear or you're being focused by 2 or more players.
  14. Yes, the leaderboards are clearly being hacked. I should be #1 in all categories.
