LOL ... AND we get to enjoy all this AGAIN before the weekend ...!

Just think ... we get to go through this fun exercise AGAIN ... wooo HOOO!

Not only was bad patch inadvertently released a day early that broke game clients (OOPS),

AND today's patch issued with the standard garbage/bugs that gets such wonderful standard responses as "have you checked your firewall ...?" and "have you ever played SW Unleashed ...?" (double-OOPS), but

THIS one, which they seem so proud of (refer http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=684585) was KNOWINGLY issued with one of the two main attractions broken ("there is a Known Issue with Dread Palace that prevents players from completing ...") ...

BUT don't worry! They "are working to get a fix out for this issue by this weekend"! Sooooo ... we can expect ANOTHER (broken) patch before the weekend .... and you didn't think it could be any more laughable ...!

(Fun game when it works, but no way in heck would I ever renew my sub or pay for anything BW/EA-related ... just saying ...) (... and to all you apologists? you prolly don't realize just how ridiculous you sound, but ... just thought you might like to know) :)

ENJOY! :)

I am currently dealing with the error 1003 issue, and its the first time since launch I have lost game time (other than RL being more important). I don't think im an apologist when I say I enjoy the game very much and have 99% good things to say about swtor and bioware.

Uh oh. He added a disclaimer at the bottom. Now nobody can disagree with him. That's the rules.

Yeah, saw that. Was going to reply... but can't. Oh well, back to the Dread Fortress. I wonder what the OP will be doing this weekend?

Hey, if you have no issues with the patches or have had none, more power to you; glad to hear it! Honestly I'm a bit envious (and wonder if you are subs or f2p).

There is obviously SOME difference as I'm not the only person running into issues, but thanks for the sarcastic replies demonstrating your "l88tness" ...

A lot of us Subs are getting a little tired of this garbage though;

The fact is that they released a patch that they know is broken beyond the "unexpected" issues people are running into (they note the known issue on the launcher login) but they assure us that they'll have a patch to fix it ... when people are having issues with THIS patch?

That's just laughable. (almost as laughable as l88tist neck-bearded basement dwellers who pay close attention to forum threads when their patch worked so perfectly, and they can play the game ... but that's another matter ...)

Cheers! :)

Major patches have issues. I remember the days in WoW when the game was unplayable for a couple of days after a major patch. They'll hot fix it. If they don't, then we'll start getting cartel coins and free days. It's the natural order of things.

Relax man, I apologize for having both a sense of humor and a neck beard. It is after all, a GAME. Luckily I was not affected by this yesterday, but I have had some patching problems in the past and I just rolled with it. I try not to take life so seriously, I mean when I can't get on a game I find something else to do for awhile, like spend time with my neck-bearded wife and kids (though I must admit my mother's basement gets a little cramped.) I hope it all works out for you, however.

Well now.. since you went on the record here.. can you tell us how many Subs you are representing and speaking for here? Or was that a rhetorical comment? :)

What is your point exactly? Are you just venting your frustrations.. or is there a point here that is missed by the rest of us?

Oh I agree, major (and minor) patches often have issues. And yes, sadly I remember those all too well. lol

It's not the new issues that most of us find annoying, rather it's the SAME ones repeating themselves and when brought to CS attention get the same responses, which essentially amount to "it must be your firewall/ISP, or another game you installed, or some other fault of yours" and such helpful suggestions as "you may have corrupted your client; you should re-download and reinstall the entire game"

They may or not give CC's or free days; I honestly don't care (truly the 50 cents/day won't really make or break a person's piggy bank). I don't think most people are really frustrated by money issues (although I can't truly know).

I just find it amazing that any company would put what they know to be a broken product into the market with a simple "that's okay, we'll try to fix it soon (although we have no idea how yet)" with a hearty "oh and btw we aren't responsible for the patch/game not working for you even though it was working fine yesterday ... must be your fault somehow." thrown in besides ...

Laughable. :)

Peace :)

Oh, I wouldn't presume to represent any but myself; but your point is well-taken ... I do however include myself as one of the many ppl posting in the forums who appear to be getting frustrated over the whole patch-process (and if you haven't read any of those posts, you're missing out).

Well now ... since you went on record here, I wonder just how many you are representing and speaking for here ... (don't bother, all who are about to reply ... that was a poor attempt at sarcasm and irony ....) , but since you ask: no it was more of a "Heads up gang ... this isn't over yet <groan>" than a venting or a "point to be made".

Happy trails! :)

Go Google Microsoft Windows known issues on release day. in the software development industry, every company releases with known issues. they identify the risk and accept the risk that it's better to earn money off of the product instead of delaying further which equates to further loss of revenue.

One day, when you grow up OP, you may find out that 'getting stuff out the door' or closing a deal tends to trump all other concerns; that deadlines are called 'deadlines' for a reason and that as much as it sucks, 'fix it as you go' is endemic to *all* businesses.

On a side note, I very much doubt that even if the final encounter of the new Operations suite were a free kill that it would in any way affect you.

It is unfortunate that sometimes BW make mistakes, suck it up princess.

Patching and pouting, I'm sure.

Yeah... you don't think... he will quit playing immediately out pure principle do you? You know, literally stop right now and put his money where his mouth is?

Nah... he gets a little trinket out this and it will be all but forgotten next week.

LMAO ... when I grow up? I prolly have socks older than you, lolol ...

And as for "getting stuff out the door" or "closing the deal" tends to trump... Is THAT how it works? I bet those I had to fire thought the same thing ... "deadlines" are not "deadlines" merely because we have to push cr*p out the door, it's because that's the date we are held accountable to . If you still have a broken product at 5pm on Fri, and the deadline is 11am mon, guess who should be working the weekend?

If you can't live up to your promises, or your commitments, you have a serious reliability and credibility problem ... not too mention that your customers or clients will be seeking alternate vendors at every chance ...

but hey, GL chasing the American dream ... maybe your next job will work out better (and if that's your idea of how business works, I expect that may not be too far off into the future... )

(oh, and anyone can cast baseless insults, kid, but don't worry it's all fun ... until you grow up ... so enjoy while you can!)

Be Safe Be Well! :)

Get a life!

Good Luck! :)

You got it right, that's how it should work. Why can't these devs can't delay a release of something before it is ready?

If it's the EA execs, do those people not take in pride in the product they offer?
