Healmic Posted September 14, 2013 Share Posted September 14, 2013 Over the past few days I have purchased multi hypers and singles (I mean alot over 25k CC's spent) to obtain The Cathar Honor Sword. Not once have i obtained my desired item. The Woodland which also was stated to be a super rare, I got one in each of my hypers i brought when the Freelancer was first released. Over all I've spent over $200 for one item (that i haven't got), as a regular Cartel Market user (with legand standing) I am deeply disappointed. Obversely collections was the first part i checked .. clearly states Found in the Regulators Contraband and Enforcers Contraband packs, both which are still obtainable thought the Cartel Market ... It doesn't mean if you buy 100 packs you would definitely get it. You could buy 1000 packs and not get one. You knew that before you bought the packs. It's random. Or it could be a .001% chance and you could get it every time in 100 packs. Here is a tip (Already said, but gonna repeat.) sell the packs, if you bought so many you could of sold them and bought the sword, Hypercrates usually sell for like 3 mil plus on my server (Shadow lands) and the Honer Swords (Last I checked) were 1-3 mil. Packs are if you want a variety of items from that series of packs. If you want one item, you should always go to GTN. It is never value for money to buy packs with the aim of getting one specific item, especially if it is as rare as the Cathar Honour Sword. If you don't get the Sword in whatever amount of CC you spent on pack, suck it up and sell the items you DO get. Somebody is bound to have sold one sword on the GTN at some point. And OP, opening packs to obtain a specific item is the worst way to go about it. On BC, they go from 1 to 2 mil. Easily gathered with in-game activities (even though it might take a little time). Comparing the cartel pack system to actual gambling that takes place in casinos and the like is hilariously absurd. This is the most skewed, idiotic perspective on what cartel packs are all about. By your logic, opening Pokemon card boosters is gambling because kids may have a desire to get a specific card, but with only a certain number of cards in each pack, there's a good chance they won't get the specific one they want. A system comprising the basic element of randomness is NOT analogous to actual gambling, where you pay an amount of money with the likelihood of getting nothing in return.
