Combat Tech is more geared for the middle tree for Vanguard and Powertech. The reason why, is due to the (PT version) Charged Gauntlets, any Rail Shot after using Rocket Punch is a auto crit. Unfortunantly due to the 2p Eliminators bonus being Merc/Mando based, it doesn't fit with say how PT Pyrotech's talents work. We over in the PT forums are currently discussing this issue actually in regards to Pyrotech's dps output.
