EDIT: I can't swear to it, but when NM DG was first out, I thought Guarded by the Force/Undying Rage did not keep you alive. I wonder if the nerf in 2.2.3 affected Doom's damage allowing you to survive it.

 

Well, I know that Guarded didn't work back in HM DG pre-2.0. I have no idea how this could be reduced to zero damage. Some other buff has to be floating around for that to make sense.

I don't see anything that would prevent seems to be adding to the damage prevention. Maybe I am crazy for being uncertain but I will try this with my guild next time we are in TFB. I'm sort of curious if Undying Rage would work the same...I know it *should* but "should" and "do" are not always the same.

As far as I know, gbtf still does not work for Heirad's lightning. I haven't tried it since the nerf, so I can't be certain.

I do find it odd that it works for doom(0 damage) but fails for the lightning. And it is odd that it is 0 damage, but it is. I don't use any other defensive cd for doom(i.e. saber ward, force camo or rebuke), just gbtf on it's own. I'll add that I didn't discover this. I read about it in one of the original NiM DG threads.

A note on the Doom topic. I had several tries at this boss and twice I got doomed. The first time I got it, I said, let me try to see if I don't die and waited for the timer to tick. At 1 second I used guarded by the force and force camo. I survived but I got doom back in an instant.

 

 

In another attempt, I said, I will survive it and I can continue doing damage on the boss. I was wrong, I used Guarded by the Force at 1 second, force camo was on cooldown, and I kind of died . So what gives with these sporadic results?

Do your logs confirm that GbtF was used in time? It could be there was a bit of lag.

She died from exactly the amount of damage I would expect if only 1% of Doom's 14 million-odd damage is getting through (i.e. she took around 100k damage). We didn't try with Camo because everyone was annoyed at me for having her use it, so she just picked up green circles from that point forward. :-)

I forget, what type of damage is Doom? Would Saber Ward help at all?

I can confirm that Force Camo + Guarded by the force work. We tried this in our two hour progression and it hasn't failed. If you pop force camo and guarded by the force at 1-2s left of DOOM it says Resisted / Zero Damage.
