Streaming advice

Hello wanted to ask some advice from players that regularly stream

I was going to start streaming some of my guilds group antics But was wondering if it was worth doing Main factor is latency does streaming affect in game performance?

My current service is just adsl with around 700kb line speed is this adaquate Or am i better off sticking to fraps and youtube.

With 700kbps, you will only be alt to stream at 480p max. It will be terrible quality at that. Unless you can get your upstream higher, i wouldn't try streaming. If you want good quality videos, I would stick with fraps and YouTube.

 

A suggestion though, download open broadcaster software. use that to record your videos. it automatically compresses the video to mp4 format so the size of a 20 minute video is only like 500mb.

OBS is the program I use. A general rule of thumb is you need 2mbps upload to run a multiplayer game and stream at the same time with decent quality. OBS can also record your games for you and save them to your desktop so that you can make youtube videos etc.
