LordTyveris
Hello, The concealment tree has a passive skill "Infiltrator" which says: "Increases movement speed by 5%/10%/15% and effective stealth level by 1/2/3." I'm confused about the second part: Does the detection level increase with this skill, and therefore stack with the Scouting talent, or does it only apply to movement speed? Thanks
gwoger
Well first off, the Infiltrator skill is only 2 points not 3 (it's 7.5/15 and 1/2 now). Your stealth level is basically how good you are at stealth. So increasing your stealth level means you could potentially get closer to enemies without being detected. This stealth level buff would stack with the skill Shadow Operative Elite which also increases your stealth level. Stealth DETECTION level, like on the skill Scouting, is how good you are at seeing through an enemy's stealth. Scouting is basically a PVP skill. Hope that clears it up for you. LordTyveris
That does clear it up, thanks. As mostly PVE, I now need to reset my skills :-) Well first off, the Infiltrator skill is only 2 points not 3 (it's 7.5/15 and 1/2 now). Your stealth level is basically how good you are at stealth. jasestu
And what about the movement speed part, is that just all walking/running all the time that's increased, so we're baseline faster than other classes, or is it just reduce the gimping of movement speed when in stealth? gwoger
I'm not completely sure about the speed numbers. Some folks on torhead were debating it with math. I'm not totally sure which one is correct. http://www.torhead.com/ability/a7DVOmk/infiltrator
Luckeyduckey
Copying from Torhead, but this is correct: Sprint Instant Increase movement speed by 35% while NOT IN combat. This means that while you are IN COMBAT, sprint does not apply, and the 15% infiltrator increase in movement speed takes over. While you are out of combat, you can use sprint, and the 15% infiltrator increase in movement speed is null and void. This essentially means your movement speed with this talent will look like this: In combat unstealthed = 115% (would have been 100% without infiltrator) In combat stealthed = 100% (would have been 85% without infiltrator) Out of combat unstealthed = 135% (using sprint, would have remained the same without infiltrator) Out of combat stealthed = 120% (using sprint, would have remained the same without infiltrator)

Bioware! change it so that move speed stuff stacks with Sprint!!!
Syberduh
It's the same reason you don't see much of a speed boost when you pop sneak out of combat. 50% speed boost but it doesn't stack with sprint so it's less than a 15% speed boost compared to sprint speed. afaik No speed boost in the game stacks with any other speed boost.
