FritzV
Not sure what happened with the latest update but it appears if you have a XP Op System you can not log in. I haven't been able to log back in since the update yesterday 5.14.13 and now am greeted by a message that says they are investigating an issue with XP users getting kicked to the desktop on login. DUH ... wth is going on?
llafrance
me too what's up they should know what they did ..........how are they going to compensate us for not being able to play ???????????
FritzV
I have no idea, never had an issue logging in and how to do you screw a window's based logon connection. I have tried running it in Admin sort of out of ideas, but other than being able to sign on that's as far as I can get now ...
Lumpyone
You do realize support for XP by Microsoft will stop in 2014, less than a year from now. You really should consider moving to at least Win
FritzV
Thank you very much aware of that ... prefer the more stable XP Pro ... but on backup computer my Dell has Vista 7 but its down on so using my more reliable Mac and it has XP on its PC partition and works great ... but for this update ... hopefully they address it before long ... not sure I want to invest in the Dell or another bad MS Op System
azudelphi
Windows 7 is actually fairly stable. My latest rigs have been running very solidly.

I've found the game runs a little better on Win 7 than on my XP Pro machine. Don't quite by the argument that XP Pro is more stable any longer, especially once they stop support. No new patches will come, meaning holes will stay open and get worse, meaning less stable. Be proactive and move now. Protect yourself.
FritzV
No I will. BTW they have fixed the issue apparently and life is good the Galaxy again .... lol Edited May 16, 2013 by FritzV
CyberTronX
I would like to add, that starting up my SWTOR launcher, and seeing a patch fix for XP (I was using 7) users NOT EVEN A DAY after 2.1 released, is a pleasant surprise. From my opinion of EAWare's habit on fixing issues, I expected this to be an issue for at least a couple weeks. It's nice to see a fix this quickly, so thumbs up from me. CaptRavenous
While they may be dragging on bugs that are not exactly game-breaking issues, they DO want to make sure everyone can log in and play. Because they know, no one subscribes to a game you can't access.
KaganDrakon
I was having the problem of launcher crash when clicking on play after the update went into effect. Last night I logged in and it downloaded a file ?? 116. Then I was able to play the game as normal so I believe the issue has been fixed. There is no need to revert to pre patch version and have issues with that. XP users should be able to resume playing now. I figure they got lots of complaints so they addressed the issue as promptly as posssible. If you still have issues call costumer service for more information and notify them of the issue so they can work to resolve it.
