Do you use your over sized blow dryer?

Why yes! Being able to use it whilst CC'd is a great way to piss someone off that thought they could CC you and cap a node, without worrying about using a CC breaker.

HAHAHAAH ROFL!!!!

I did this today when an operative stabbed me and tried to cap the node in civil war and he was like "***! Why I'm being hit!!!" :D

I laughed so hard!

Very very VERY rarely.

For PvE, (for me personally), the mechanic is just too cluncky and there are other things to do, use and keep track of. If this was a "fire and forget" ability (for example: activate it, and for the next 5 minutes (how long it stays loaded) it automatically fires a rocket every 15 seconds (for example) at your current target) I would use it more. Of course, if it worked this way, it would negate its useful in PvP ;).

This is from an Assault point of view where there is nothing that boosts Shoulder Cannon to create an incentive to use it.

If I was Tactics (that has the "Charged Loaders" talent (+15% damage and 3 more rockets fully talented)) or Shield Specialist (that has the "Guard Cannon" talent (+5% damage and threat and 5% healing for every rocket hit)) I would have more of an incentive to use Shoulder Cannon. Maybe if Assault got a talent that made it "fire and forget" (as I mentioned above... maybe as an added effect of "Rapid Recharge" or "Adrenaline Fueled") or boosted it in someway I would use it more.

As it stands though, from an Assault point of view, I rarely use it.

Even in PvE I'd say it's still worth it, you can fill in extra damage in those boss fights while you're stunned, or if you're running low on ammo for whatever reason you can use it as a filler in between other abilities, as dps that is.

As a tank it's my other safety net because of the health regeneration, it helps a LOT.

The others have sort of mentioned how it's still awesome in pvp, though . . . it doesn't look good for vanguard pvpers it seems (based on the state of our forum).

It's off the GCD so I don't really see how there are "other things to do". It is free damage - it costs no ammo and is off the GCD, not using it is gimping yourself.

Speaking from a Shield VG

Shoulder Cannon is a great tool for your toolbox. I love it during PVP. Not only interrupting node cappers but I love it when I am chasing someone and they try to stealth out but I hit the cannon.. the rockets follow them and breaks them out of stealth and they are mine to slice down. I love it. Plus for shield the extra threat and healing has improved my playstyle.

I do wish they were a little more imaginative with the design but its truly handy. and not on GCD.. got to love that.

I don't think you realize how it works, It it used outside of global cool down. Which means you can fire it off while other abilities are on global cooldown. So saying that you have other things to do doesn't make sense. Its also a free attack that doesn't use ammo.

In my defence I've since changed my stance about the ability and do use it more often now :).

you might as well. Its ****** damage but free damage.

Sorry but you are wrong. It might seem like little more free dmg, but in fact it comes with all other classes having more superior new abilites than that. So in PVP its like little nerf if anything.
