TheBBP
Of course, this is assuming that there is that sort of content coming. What if they altered the Jedi Code into something other than what West End Games envisioned it as?
Wolfninjajedi
That would be a bad move. The code is fine the way it is. Edited April 22, 2013 by Wolfninjajedi
jovianus
It wouldn't really change anything. Unless they make a point of saying, "This has always been the one and only Jedi Code." it can always be assumed that Luke developed a new one after restoring the Order. Selenial
That would be a bad move. The code is fine the way it is. Agreed. Only thing i can see them doing anywhere along these lines is making the new Jedi interpret the code in a new way

Aurbere
The Jedi Code is fine. It needs no changing. What needs changing is how it is interpreted. Because, as it stands, only the wisest of Jedi have been able to fully understand the Code.

Ventessel
The Jedi Code is fine. It needs no changing. What needs changing is how it is interpreted. Because, as it stands, only the wisest of Jedi have been able to fully understand the Code. Actually, that seems to indicate that it could use some heavy revisions. If your organization's defining charter is so vaguely worded and obscure that only the wisest members are able to divine it's meaning and interpretation, that's a fairly serious problem. As long as the Jedi were just a religious affiliation of sorts, it was ok to have a relatively open ended creed that could be read in many different ways, just as many actual religious texts are in the real world. However, if Luke is creating the Jedi Order as it was under the Old Republic, an organization of adjudicators and guardians, it would be crucial to have a concise, clear Jedi Code that governed their actions. Ernost
The five line mantra (There is no emotion, there is peace....) is only a small part of the Jedi code. The Jedi Code was a code of conduct that established rules and modes of behavior for all Jedi. Although changing in style through the generations, the main tenets, context and meaning of the code stayed the same. You can read more about it here, but yes Luke did make several changes, like allowing Jedi to marry and removing age restrictions for potential Jedi candidates. It seems that the Jedi code is a vague idea that gets rewritten nearly every time it's quoted, so maybe this time they'll actually give it a bit more definition, like coda's or mantra's for multiple events, flesh out luke's version a bit. Agreed, i hate the fact that many Jedi can't even understand the first line. "There is no emotion, there is peace" I would interpret that to mean We are not ruled by our emotions, but strive for peace. Many Jedi seem to think it means they should block out emotion completely, and it leads to many a downfall, a sith coaxes you into feeling the slightest bit of anger and you completely Lose it... And well.... Die.
sinnaman
Please J.J. Abrams change the jedi code, lightside and darkside definition, change the EU hell retcon everything except Revan. FIXED if Abrams did it once, he can do it again. I won't be surprised if the first shot of the new movie has a ship time traveling from the future back to pre EP IV and instantly changes the entire timeline.
