Beryllius?

You think Beryllius is bad? Try Regulators. I mean, 9000-10000 creds per sheet for Beryllium I can swallow for the 156 piece, but 18,000 for a Regulator... here goes my plan to craft my own augments. 'Cause, you know, it's a hard Critical to get....

Personally, I think the mentality you've stated here is the biggest mistake most players make. Craft for others, buy for yourself. The ONLY exception I make, is when I have sufficient foreknowledge to craft an item and have it waiting for a character. Otherwise, I do not spend the resources (specifically time).

Furthermore, if augments are selling for less than four TRs then buy the augments. Who cares whether you crafted them yourself or not?

As for anyone complaining about the rarity of Beryllius, I find the cheapest way to get it is to forget about the RNG of Rich/Bountiful missions and just buy the Wealthy Underworld Trading missions that come from Slicing. Each Wealthy mission gives 5 Berylius (8 if the mission crits).

With 'buying' you mean from the GTM, or are there particular vendors (NPCs)? Because right now, I found not a single UT mission at GTM :/

Cheers, Farbauti.

You can get Mission Discoveries from crits on Slicing (Lockbox) missions, crits while gathering some lockboxes in the open world, some Lockboxes returned by Treasure Hunting Missions, occasional Lockboxes in the open world, or the GTN (if somebody who obtained a Mission one of the other ways wants to sell it). There are no vendors for these missions.

Those tend to be like 150-275k on my server...but i haven't checked recently.

That's interesting. On Harbinger I would buy the missions whenever they go for 35k or cheaper, which used to happen on a regular basis. Armorings/Mods tend to sell for upwards of 30k, so it was a reliable profit.

The raw Beryllius itself sells for about 8k each currently, but that's mainly because prices dropped after the Jawa Junk made it easier to come buy. It used to sell for 10k-12k.

Speaking of Jawa Junk, if you want a reliable source of artifact grade mats you could join a guild that places in the top 10 on the conquest leaderboards and make sure that your character always completes its weekly conquest goal. That will give you 10 Jawa Junk to trade for Beryllius. I always complete the conquest objective on my alts, so I currently have 2 full 99x stacks of Jawa Junk stored for whenever I need it.

Actually, I was following your advice, pricing crafting myself vs purchasing. :) Most of the 28th were cheaper to make myself, but it seems that Augments could be an exception due to the Thermal Regs cost. I am yet to max out the Slicing. My chars for whom I intend the Augments is L28 atm, so I have some time to work my way to it, but I doubt I can do a full set of 14, lol.

It happens alot on the Progenitor server, maybe its the server? i have no idea, maybe i am just the old fashioned type that prices the stuff i make based on the difficulty of getting the materials, instead of seeing how many 0's i can add to the price tag.

That isn't "old-fashioned", it is socialist.

Not a crime, but we don't live in that economy.

Good for you :D. But, you tried to take my advice one step too far is all.

Grade 28 purple augments is a razor thin market. Fact is I buy most of the TRs I use to craft said augments, and I will buy TRs simply because they are "cheap" (I may not craft any augments with them for some time). But when I do go to craft augments, I make darn sure that the augments I craft will turn a profit before crits. And I gotta be honest, I have not crafted an augment for my own use in quite some. As a matter of fact, the last batch I made, I ended up selling (I had made a batch for a soon to be 55 character, but then the prices shot up) :D.

Something else to realize is that grade 28 augments are the top of the line (right now). OTOH, ALL other grade 28 stuff is considered entry level for end game. Point is that just because an item has a specific grade/rating attached to it, does not mean it follows the same patterns as all its cousins.
