The damage you folks think exist is only if the other team leaves you alone. A lighting spec sorcs is easy to cancel out easy to kill via most any other class. So the damage you think exists really doesn't because no one will leave you alone and not use any defensive cooldowns to allow you to 18k damage in 3-4 seconds. Sorry to say also that most people have 26-30k hp at 55 with gear.

 

A maurader leaping to you worth anything will likely force you to try and kite in which case you lose 95% of your damage output if you stand still and try to burst him down they have force choke a Jugg has push or stun it's just very easy for them to interupt you and stop your damage output. We don't have any burst unless we are left alone which any class that is left alone can kill something it's when someone is your face what can you do and the answer is not a whole lot.

 

We don't have the survivability of say a Frost Mage from wow with an aoe root a buff that snares and increases armor electocute needs to be back to 30 yards and only a 30 second cooldown overload needs to be back to aoe the class right now is soft and doesn't hit very hard compared to others. You shouldn't need crowds of people standing together to put out damage.
