It wasn't to horribly long ago (1000 years) in the time line, and it's not like we already don't find enough even older rakata stuff laying around everywhere. For as much of the this game is rooted in the past, I think we are missing more canonical (as far as the comics go) items. I am also not against using armor from this time.
