SithZigg
this can be summed with USER ERROR i have a 5 year old PC (no upgrades) that can run this at 60 fps. NO PROBLEMS NO CRASHES Same here. My 5 year old machine runs it just fine; it could use a little bit more RAM, but it runs fine the way it is right now.
vantier
Beta weekends = no problem at all, running at constant 60+ FPS. EGA = laggy as hell, FPS fluctuating between 60 and 5 all the time. The ONLY thing that changed between those two dates is the SWTOR client which was patched. I have literally NOTHING installed on this rig apart from SWTOR. And if the only change was the client change, then...? So yeah, sorry, but logic disagrees with you. AND for the trolls I have the EXACT same thing just the basic facts mam 1 same comp same hardware same drivers 2 SWToR beta 3 days 8- 10rhs of gaming on one weekend NO!!!!!! issues and settings at med to high -- shadows on --great frame rate!!! 3 DL of the general release game client and erase of beta one (as per them) 4 pre-release start-up --crud game playability settings in the mud AKA all!!! video settings at low --shadows off -- frame rate ok BUT vid cards going mad trying to keep up ( hard core artifact-ing that never happened during the beta play weekend!!!) --THIS DID NOT HAPPEN AT ALL ON BETA at all!!!!! so in conclusion the ONLY thing that changed on my set-up was the --SWTOR client that is all so???? and i don't need to list spec's or a dix-- as LOGIC says only one thing changed then issues started then---its the one thing that changed issue!!!! Codeblew
I am having the same gfx issues as everyone else. My computer is < 2 years old with an ATI6450HD. Not the latest GPU but runs everything else just fine. When I load up SWTOR, my GPU temp goes up to 100. Eventually I get black screen and computer reboots. I have checked and cleaned the case and fans. I have put all the settings on lowest possible settings. I have run at 800x600 instead of my native res of 1080p. Everytime my CPU goes insane when running this game. To the trolls saying buy a new computer, GTMFO. I was building PC's back when you were still in diapers and I develop software for a living. I am not your $2 whore/troll. Something is wrong when I can run every other modern game fine on my rig (maybe not on max settings) but this game causes my GPU to overheat on the minimum of all possible settings. Let's face it, the gfx are okay in this game but nothing special. This game should not be overtaxing my GPU. Edit: Anyone try rolling back ati drivers from the latest yet? Codeblew
Already canceled mine. I'm not going ruin my first experience with choppy town. Fix, or it's back to Pandas. Wait, WoW has pandas now? I am glad I am out of that loop.
Codeblew
OK here'swhat you need to do. Go to the store and buy a can of air; take the side off of your computer and blow out all the dust from ALL of the fans, including your video card. Make sure you get all of the dust and whipe off any that is on any component. Close the case. Turn on your computer, run a disk clean-up and get rid of all of the files it has there, as they are only temp files. Then Defragment the drive. This should help tremendously with the issues you are having. If the above sequence doesn't work for you, you either have corrupted files in your Windows install or some hardware that is flaky and about to go bad on you. Also, make sure you have enough wattage in your Power Supply to carry ALL of the hardware you are using. If the PS is under wattage, you will get everything you are complaining about while using a graphically intensive game. Rule of thumb is to have a Power Supply that is over your required wattage, so you can always upgrade later if you need. But one that is right on the edge of cpacity or under is bad for all of the hardware because brownouts can cause serious damage to your machine. One thing you should do is always make sure that your computer can handle the job you require of it, brfore complaining that it is the softwares fault, because 90% of the time you are most likely wrong about the software Or the option that you forgot is that the client software is buggy and causing issues for some people. With this many people only having problem with this 1 game, while all others run fine, what does that logic tell you Mr. smarty pants? Yes, that is correct, the client is buggy for some people. Just because it is running fine on your hardware setup, does not mean that it is running fine on everybody else's setup.

SithZigg
Even if they did give you an answer, would you be able to understand/process all the technical jargon they would be throwing at you? Doctorfun
Even if they did give you an answer, would you be able to understand/process all the technical jargon they would be throwing at you? My money is on no, and you would still be no closer as to the reasons why. That sure is condescending! It is smart not to assume your own shortcomings as the shortcomings of others. TRONEON
Anyone had any improvements in the past week or so? I am seeing a slight improvement in performance and frame rates but very slight and the client is still using alot more ram, cpu resources etc than it should be. So atleast looks like they are slowly getting there but still a way to go before the performance issues are fixed for alot of us.
