Stealios Posted September 10, 2012 Share Posted September 10, 2012 As visible in the title, my sentinel is on the PTS so if there are any thing's you'd like to know I'll try and answer them as well as possible (keep in mind I live in Europe so Americans might be unlucky and have to wait a while before I log on) Here are the changes that affect us: General Force Sweep's timing has been adjusted; the ability now executes more quickly. Force Stasis has a new animation. Sentinel Guarded by the Force now lasts 4 seconds (down from 5 seconds). Zen (Shii-Cho Form) has been redesigned. Now, while Shii-Cho Form is active, using Zen consumes 1 charge every .5 seconds, generating 2 Focus for each charge consumed. Valorous Call can no longer be activated when you already have 30 stacks of Centering Focus (Sentinel) Zephyrean Slash has been redesigned. It now gives Strike, Zealous Strike, Slash, Blade Storm, and Dispatch a 50% chance per point to reduce the active cooldown of Force Sweep and Zealous Leap by .5 seconds per point. Swift Slash now additionally affects Dispatch. Saber Strength now additionally affects Dispatch. Singularity: Stacks of Singularity now additionally reduce the Focus cost of Force Sweep by 12.5% per point per stack. Shii-Cho Mastery's armor penetration has been increased to 15% per point. And how do ur 1vs1 fights end up with other sents/maras from other specs if u have gotten the chance? (if u noticed any different things fighting other strong classes like powertechs/vanguards, any input is also very welcomed) Oh and btw, if ur the Stelios from Red Eclipse, hello dude hope ull have much fun testing now, am really looking forward to test my home spec by myself. Before your damage could be very delayed but it seems to have been corrected - confirm? Also, i would like to think what you think of Focus in general now. Yeah, that's me . Ideal rotation would be very similar to: force leap>force exhaustian>zealous strike> force sweep> bladestorm>slash>slash>stasis>zealous leap> sweep. Something like that. It comes down to some luck with crits on your abilities to lower CD on force sweep + depending on zen you don't need to build focus really. In 1 vs 1 so far i've noticed that you can pull off a lot more sweeps than usual, however most sentinels seem to be focus so haven't played against a watchman or combat yet. Against PT's you still have to be quick, but if you manage to hit them with 2 sweeps they're usually gone. I asked this in the other thread, but probably better here. Can you give more details on this: Basically Zen builds 12 focus over 3 seconds now. I've tried activating it at different times, but any time i had more than 3 focus it was nearly impossible to drop it before zen filled bar completely. It also makes force sweep free if specced into 'singularity'. If you want to really burst it's going to be leap+zen>sweep>bladestorm>force exhaustian>slash>slash>zealous leap> force sweep. Animation is still the same (as far as I could tell), but it's sped up. So if you really have bad luck it will still be late, but it activates closer to start of GCD than to the end of it (like it is atm). If you have a good healer on your team I'd definitely suggest focus. I wasn't having any focus management issues. The change to lower cost of force sweep by 1 from each stack of singularity is amazing. However I'm afraid that they will change some things again before this comes actually to the live servers. The expertise is the same and they want us to take poorly optimized weapons over our min/maxed ones for an increase of 5-10 in str and end? While I personally believe that there should be no more expertise added to new tiers of gear, it's just ridiculous how the sentinel weapons are all accuracy + critical rating. The power surge enhancement that we need is in the Vindicator (Guardian) offhand & it's not even possible to get the ideal mod since there is none of those with strength atm. Best option IMO is to just take the hilts and see if the mods/enhancements are an upgrade to another armor piece. However, I think somewhere was mentioned that the new PvP gear will come with the new wz, so hopefully that will come soon and make it slightly more acceptable.
