Arancha
I need your help because I am rather confused about secondary stats. I have seen that rakata's armor set piles up on accuracy, taking it up above 100%. How much do I really need? 90%? 95%?. Also I have seen that the enhancements packs crit/surge or power/alacrity ... which one would be better?
Suryi
Personally I prefer 100% because I'm allergic to high impact bolt misses, but I've seen people throwing around the idea that 98% is enough so it's up to you. Also alacrity is completely useless for Vanguards. Hope this helps.
Sanctusvox
105% Acc is what you are looking for. 100% puts you at max, but there is a natural 5% that you have to make up for http://www.noxxic.com/swtor/pve/trooper/vanguard/assault-specialist/stat-priority-and-details you will probably end up around 110% but you can cut. I am around 104%. as for everything else- always stack Aim 1600-1700, crit around 30-35%, surge @ or around 75%

ckoneful
Is noxxic riddled with flaws for SWTOR as it is for WoW? I absolutely dread when people link anything noxxic related to WoW forums to "help" people when they actually do more harm than good.

I absolutely dread when people link anything noxxic related to WoW forums to "help" people when they actually do more harm than good. It sounds like it. There is no reason to ever go above 98% accuracy. This is becuase Tech AND Special attack accuracy is always going to be 10% higher than the base ranged rate. The only attack that is affected by the 98% accuracy is hammer shot. High Impact Bolt is a special attack. The reason to only get tech/special to 108%, and no higher, is because operation bosses all have a flat rate of 8% Defense rating, so the extra 8% after the 100% counters that. Any higher is a complete waste for PVE.

EDIT: Oh god, it lists Power/Alacrity enhancements as what you should go for if you don't need the Surge... Noxxic is possibly WORSE here. It also has 31/4/6 listed as the best build... Suryi
High Impact Bolt is a special attack Just an FYI, HiB is a ranged attack and is subject to missing/getting dodged. I've had it happen multiple times, it's difficult to spot because the MISS text is small, grey, and hidden beneath other numbers that are flying about... not sure why. This is why people advocate 100% RANGED accuracy (110 tech) so they don't miss HiB. Ever.
Y-Yorle
HiB/Rail Shot is indeed considered a Ranged type attack (you can look up what type it is in the ability window list, says on the right side of each ability) and as such uses the same accuracy as melee attacks (aka the 'normal' accuracy). p.s. HiB/Rail shot can still miss even with 100% if someone's defense roll (which could be quite high) works, it just won't happen as often (5% less to be exact) as when you have 95%. e.a. 100% accuracy vs 15% defense = 85% chance to hit with it. This is why people advocate 100% RANGED accuracy (110 tech) so they don't miss HiB. Ever. um... HiB is a special attack this is different from a tech attack because while they have the same amount of accuracry, tech attacks are not subject to a defense check, only resistance counts against tech attacks and other than shadow/assassin shroud no one will have any resistance in pvp. HiB as a ranged special attack does have to deal with a defense check, everyone has at least 5% defense chance. so to make sure HiB doesn't miss you would need 95% basic acc or 105% special attack acc. now inquis/consulars have 10% base defense chance and tanks can run upwards of 20% defense chance in defense gear so some like to run 100% basic acc to deal with the 10% defense chance and do better against tanks. Personally I run 96% acc because the trade off is acc vs surge and none of my other abilities really need any acc since they are tech, if a target has very high defense chance I just save HiB for other targets. Funick
Yeah sorry, I should've mentioned I was talking about PvE well 98% I know at least used to cap your acc for all pve, not sure if that's still true, don't really run pve anymore.
