my bad i misunderstood your initial statement. i apologize. yes it was from republic commando. I switched to GW2 now anyways. which makes me very sad because i like this game a lot, but the population is awful. i think i got this. you need to pick up a second power relic. and your spec isnt optimized for the "big hit" try this spec http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hMbZMcZfhrbzGhMc.2 you also need to to finish all you augments with AIM. then you need to bring down your tech crit to about 32-35% and replace that crit with power. replace at least 1 of your accuracy enhancements with power/aim as well. I get 5ks a lot. my highest is 6600. you can see it all on my live stream videos. just click the link in my sig.

you should have lost some ranged crit, but gained some tech crit because crit you spec into negates diminishing returns. hmmmm.... you may be at an impasse until you get a chance to tweak you gear.

Depends on your gear. I use the WH Power Relics. Power effects all damage you deal. I am at the softcap for crit(35%) and i am over the surge soft cap (75%). so power is the best solution for me. once you have all your gear, you will have a better idea of what you want. I would suggest buying your main gear first and then looking at the relics. Or you can buy the relics that help you the most now and just rebuy them later when you have a better idea of what will help you.

I use the PvE set bonus. 8% HiB damage bonus and 15 sec Battle Focus cool down reduction. you just have to rip all the mods, armoring, and enhancements out of your PvP gear and put them in the PvE gear. I think it is the best out there. My play style is about total damage increase instead of burst though. I dont hit a lot of 5k+, but i still get them. however as an example for my rotation that i see a lot. IR> Sticky> Battle Focus> HiB> SS> HiB> Ion Pulse> Ion Pulse Damage looks like 1000>2500-3000>na> 4900>3000>4900>2500>2500 That's with crits. but i do see that. check out my videos of my live streams to see it in action.

I eventually evolved to this spec for rateds. The amount of mitigation was silly in rateds, so that cut down some of the burst. I did try this spec out in War Hero and it worked well. I eventually min/maxed my gear to fit my play style. I used the Battle Master Armoring so i could keep the PvE set bonus. The rest consists of War Hero mods and enhancements. I tweaked my mods for increased power as well. My Tech crit is 35.51%. My highest Crit is 6500. My ranged crit is 28.58%, but my 8% damage increase to HiB and Battle Focus increase helps supplement my lower ranged crit. HiB is a ranged attack, but AP is Tech.

I run this build http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hMbZMsZfhrbzGhMc.2 i am typically the top dps, unless i am defending. i still crush people, but I have the ability to end fights on my term. i just decide how much ammo i want to use. The HiB/AP combo is great, but if the rebound from it, it leaves you vulnerable.

i like the 4 piece PvE set bonus. 8% HiB damage bonus and Battle Focus cool down reduction. the bonus should reflect your play style.

a couple routes you can go. if you want to be a tank end-game i would recommend tactics while using ion cell. if you want to piss people off you can use an ion pulse burst build until you hit the 40's, assault is another route (my favorite) but it relates the least to your end game tanking. i am lazy so just let me know if you want specifics on any of these.

a few questions... 1) do you want to keep AP? 2) are you looking to increase your crit to max your HiB/AP combo burst? 3) are you open to alternate builds that will increase crit without AP?

i would argue smash spec is the easiest right now. you still have to ammo manage in assault.

all i saw was 605k damage (nice) 25 kills??? a lot of damage, but if you can't kill the person it is a wasted effort. if they had killed the people they were shooting, then the damage output would have been less and they might have won the Huttball match. there is a difference between damage and effective damage. If you spend the whole match dps'ing a healer that never dies and the other team wins... well you may put up a million in damage, but it doesn't mean anything. However if you do 600k with 50+kills effecting the flow of the game. then you may have contributed. I know it is all subjective, but the PvP veterans will know what I'm talking about.

IMO best PvP build will depend on your playing style. this is what i use. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hMbZMsZfhrbzGhMc.2 This spec allows me to max my HiB (highest damage potential) still get my aim boost (all around damage boost) pick up natural crit to supplement my damage. i.e. cant mitigate crit damage. i still get an ammo regen option from being stunned. i get my slow to keep people in range or kite them and i get my elemental damage boost. I know this spec isnt for everyone. I am wearing the PvE set bonus with all Warhero mods and enhancements and i am using the battle master armoring. having the pve set bonus allows me to pop my crit boost more often while giving me an 8% damage boost to my hib. I have found that it is a huge help for rated pvp. I average 350-450k damage. In a full game of voidstar i will always get close to 700k. yeah, we had to pug as well. it sucks when not everyone is on the same page. plus "struggle"? not sure if i saw that. we pushed them the whole game they were just interrupting us on the caps with their stealth. still a win is a win.
