1. Kaas is the main world of the Sith (as in 11-16 like coruscant) also many level 50s have to back travel here.

2. Tython, if you are jedi knight and consular you make frequent visits here....soo yeah.

You travel back about twice for each class. Don't pretend its something it isn't.

I can't believe what I'm reading.

Bioware, time and time again, just doesn't seem to understand how people play MMORPGs.

People, like myself, are monogamous players - we're tied to one character or one faction. I play Alliance in WoW, Qeynos side in EQ2, Elyos in Aion, and Sith in SWTOR. I *do not* deviate from these except when I create a toon just to see how things are on the other side. I did that with EQ2 and deleted that toon. I did that in WoW and faction transferred that toon.

If this statement about requiring one max-level toon on both sides is true, then Bioware is truly out of touch. Please, don't tell me that the "max level" bit is a rumor. HK-51 is not going to be easy to get. You can guarantee that it'll be hard to do so level 50 will be the way to go.

What bothers me is that people like myself don't care about the work it's what work we have to do. Yes, HK-51 is an option, but please, PLEASE tell me what red-blooded Old Republic fan isn't going to want this companion. Everyone is. You know it, I know it. Don't parrot the "oh he's just an optional companion, stop whining" statement because everyone knows everyone wants it.

In every MMO I've played there's always been a system to unlock something. My large house in EQ2, my Violet Protodrake in WoW, etc. I've done that work and I would gladly do that level of work again for HK-51, but I am *NOT* rolling a toon to 50 on the opposite faction to do so.

Even if Bioware changes their mind on this, the fact that they went public with it means that other things will unlock this way. I'm sorry, I had a bad enough experience leveling to 50, I'm not doing it again, and NOT on the opposite faction.

Soooo, your big speech about how you work real hard? Shouldn't really end it by basically saying "I will not do the hard work". Leveling up an alt is work, just because its a different character changes nothing.

I don`t roleplay and I am not against alts. I have several on my main`s side = Empire.

I am only against cross-faction alts. And if you`d bother to read my first posts in here, I was never against a hard or a long quest, or the presence of alts. My ONLY issue with HK-51 is the need for cross-faction.

And if I would want to play solo I`d not play a MMO.

Cross-faction alts are a great method of making HK hard to get, which is the whole point. It means all the lazy people who refuse to roll an alt (and try to convince everyone its for a reason other than laziness) won't be running around with a companion they didn't work for :)

Wow, I'm a pretty rubbish player that likes my hand held but you guys are seriously getting angry that you have to level a character on both sides for a companion that isn't required and is essentially fluff?

I'm glad the game is making people work hard for a cool perk, not everything can be placed on our lap delicately.

It constantly amazes me how people on this forum can get angry about everything. Dying populations sure but rare companion quests? Jeez.

Not everyone wants to play the opposite side. I have always played one side or the other in my mmo past and I don't like the idea that a game I'm paying for is trying to dictate to me which side I should play. My character slots are full so I would have to delete a character I already have to level a character I don't want to play in order to get a companion I do want. Just seems like a bad decision to me.

You realize that this is akin to "Rewards should be rewarded only for activities I want to do!"

There will always be different rewards for different activities, and they're not always going to be something you want to do. That's just life in an MMO.

Several people have said that in this thread. Are you saying that for a sought-after, hard-to-get companion, you WON'T have to get to 50? I'd be shocked if you didn't have to be.

I think you should wait to freak out until you know for sure is all. Nowhere does it say you need a lvl 50 period much less 2 of them.

Can't think of a single mmo that "made" you play both sides in order to obtain a single "item" for one character. I could be mistaken tho. I don't mind, hell I expect the quest to get this companion to be long and arduous. I just think it's a bad decision to require people to play a side they have no interest in playing. After all this is a game and it's suppose to be fun, not sure how much fun it's going to be to spend 20-30 hrs leveling a character I don't want to play. ( just a rough guess on how many hours it takes to get to 50, probably is less hours than that) Here's to hoping they will put some sort of work around it:eek:.

"Made" you? You realize that there is about a 98% chance that there will be an alternate unlock method like with just about every other Legacy reward, right?

Hence the quotation marks around the word made and the comment of hope there is a work around both factions requirement. :)

who said it was for only one character?

if you dont want to do what is required, then you dont deserve the perk.

frankly i hope it requires a level 50 of each faction... i am sick of all the QQ in this miserable waste of a thread because people are lazy and want everything handed to them, and make no mistake, not playing opposite faction is a choice that YOU make, therefore the problem is with YOU, not Bioware

no one is MAKING you play opposite faction.... dont want to play it, then dont cry about not getting the perk

No, it is not. He's saying that some people already filled their 8 slots with 50s. Now you're completely misunderstanding the point that for some people that had NO KNOWLEDGE this would happen IN THE FUTURE, that this is THEIR problem?

God damn, I hate people that crap on others when they had no foreknowledge of the future.

gosh darn, I hate people that crap on others when they had no foreknowledge of the future.

Which is why I pointed out the very likely alternate unlock method?

Well thats flat out crap. I have a Republic server and a Imperial server, simply because whats the point of cluttering up a server with alts that can't help each other in terms of crafting/items/money?

Yep, because my jedi artifice can't mail products to my sith assassin, completely useless.

You know you can send money and stuff from your imp to your pub, on the same server right?

So do you think we will be able to just start a character of the opposite faction and leave them as level 1 just to unlock this ability if it is in fact tied to having one of each faction?

I doubt it.

Very likely will be able to spend credits to unlock instead of level an opposite faction character, though, like with species unlocks.

Yeah ... I'm thinking it's going to be 1 character of level 50 per faction to qualify for a unlock price of 2 million credits.:D

Ummm... I'm thinking more like 10-15 million, but that's pure speculation.

With the prices ridiculously high for pointless crap like it is now with the Legacy system, I imagine you can probably double that figure and still not guess high enough :o
