evilharb
Well, I well and truly got into my first set of flashpoints on hard mode this past weekend - totally loving it - but now being level 50 I'm wondering if I should carry on with Taugrim's suggested pve (seee link below) build or is there something better I can use for tanking on flashpoints (and in the future - Operations), maybe something that will allow me to perhaps better interupt bosses and such like. Personally I think Taugrim's build was excellent and I loved using it for levelling, but for the more experienced PT tanks out there...is there a better build that that floating around? http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301G0GrdoroGRZMcbZ0c.
Uggliey
Dump the points spent on endurance in the pyro tree. Not worth it at all, only get like 500-600 HP. Spend in rocket punch damage and other areas. Otherwise yeah, that is the basic tank spec.
UCKFred
I use a 32/7/2 build with the belief that ion cylinder might be broken so I don't risk putting points to improve it. It's been pretty good so far. The only thing i can really say as far as builds, and the poster above me has already said it, forget the endurance and put it into rocket punch and something else. Your main concerns as a tank is maintaining threat and good execution. Rocket Punch is your main attack so beef it up as much as you can.
alifaraaz
Currently using: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301G0GrdoroGRZMcdZb.1 which a lot of other PTs use. It seems to be best overall. I wasn't aware IGC was broken though...if it is then I might need to make some changes.

I'd rather not take the chance if it's broken and put the points elsewhere. Only a dev response can settle it.
alifaraaz
Interesting. Might be worth putting the points into Rail shot then. Though I should say, from my parsing in raids Flame Burst followed by Rocket punch are my main damage dealers. So definitely dont miss out the 2 points for Rocket Punch and alteast 1 point for Hot Iron (for Flame Burst). Rail shots usually sits around the 10% mark of my overall damage. pure_laced
http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301GzGrd0roGRZMcdZb.1 This is the spec I run with. Railshot is lower on the scale damage-wise compared to Rocket Punch and Flame Burst.
Agooz
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=432203 Try this for HM FPs, if you want to make these runs a lot smoother. There are many pulls and even bosses that dont require a tank. Having the ability to switch stance in HM FPs and add one more dps to the group is awesome. Also using the setup of gear mentioned in the OP of the thread, you will have 18sec of Everygy shield almost every other pull, and 2-3 times on boss fights. I have tried this spec even in HM Ops, and it works great. In EV and KP there are bosses where going in as a DPS instead of Tank is way more useful.
