thefixx Posted May 4, 2012 Share Posted May 4, 2012 Anyone else wish they would put in some casino games. Even "Pirates of the Carribean" which is a Disney Product has Black Jack and Poker. I'd like to see them turn the wasted space on Nar Shadda, that is already a casino, the "CERULEAN LOUNGE" into the Cerulean Casino. Let us play Black Jack, Texas Holdem, Poker and maybe some Star Warsy game like the dice games on Tantooine, or bet on pod races. So players could play against each other or against the house. I don't need to see a forum post where Joe Irresponsible accuses Bioware of causing his gambling relapse and he bought from Susan Express who's now branching out to the galaxy far far away and got his account hacked. I was excited to discover it, but then disappointed that I couldn't do any gambling. I also like the idea of Tatooine being a bit of an underground gambling hub. A place where people can play casino games, gamble their credits, with a chance to win prizes and earn more credits. It would be a great break from the constant battle of the game. This game, compared to other games, has nothing to do but battle, battle, battle... gets a bit old at times. Yes, we love to battle and hit the combat scenese, but especially since they have created such a unique environment for content such as this, WHY NOT! I see no harm in some gambling, especially since there is no real money at stake. Gambling is entertainment, and that is what this game is supposed to be about - - entertainment. Having read the posts here, a comment was made that implied it takes the game out of the story, or was not content supported, but that just seems like a personal opinion, which obviously is against gambling. My response to that is, if you don't like to gamble, just don't do it. I am sure, as I have spoken to many players that thought it was a great idea, among many other great ideas that provide an escape from the repetition of combat after combat, battle after battlel; this would truly improve the game. If you could actually sit down at a table game, slot machine, and/or other games, wager some credits for a chance to win more credits (equally a chance to loose some), maybe some raffles to win speeders, and other gear/toys, that would be fun. Maybe a raffle, $1 credit to $1million credits (everything else cost millions of credits without much value) and a chance to win a unqiue outfit, combat gear package, speeder, token to purchase items, or spend at vendors, that would truly be fun. Nar Shaddaa would be a great place for this, even the cantinas and spaceports would also be a great venue for these types of games, and you could have countless different games to keep the player entertained. Anyone else like in game gambling? Great idea! I have actually posted the suggestion a couple of times. I think it would be awesome and would make a great escape for the constant battle. Face it, when you are at "war" you need an "escape" from the madness now and then. Nar Shaddaa is a great planet, but we were saddly disappointed that you could not sit down and play a game for a spell. When you enter the Star Cluster Casino, we in fact looked around at the little display, where the speeder car is, looking for a place to enter to win in! Thought SWTOR had got it right for once. lol. But we were saddly disappointed when we toured the entire casino, and the casino tables at the promanade veranda (think that was were it was) and to find that it was all for show, no games, no gambling, nothing but a fully non-operational display of what looked so much like fun! The in game gambling will be fully based on in game credits made from grinding out battle after battle. As another poster stated, it would be a nice break from the constant grind of battle, battle, battle. If not Texas Hold em, then No Limit, Tantooine hold em. but a casino is definately the next step in entertainment for the players. To give a chance at making some money and not have to fight or load in planet screens, or constantly grind the same thing in and out. The Chance Cube decided the outcome after the pod race. Gambling is totally a part of Star Wars culture. Even Chewbacca and R2D2 were playing a board game on the Millenium Falcon in New Hope which launched it all. Who doesn't remember Chewie getting pieced because R2D2's bigger monster picked up Chewies and smashed him on the board lol.. Give us some gaming.. I like Nar Shadda, because it is already a neutral town, and both REPS and IMPS can go against each other. Plus the casino there looks great, just open it up to players.
