Hmm, the Great Galactic War was the war that led to the Treaty of Coruscant: The Great Galactic War, occasionally called the Great War or the Sith–Republic War, was a war between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic between 3,681 BBY and 3,653 BBY, ultimately lasting for a total of 28 years. I think you're thinking of the Great Hyperspace War. *That* was 5000 BBY. So the Chiss alliance is a fairly new one, in galactic time scales. Toonimator Posted March 20, 2012 Share Posted March 20, 2012 Yeah, this is pretty easy to explain: the Chiss ally with the Sith Empire. The Sith Empire gets stomped, eventually, and the Chiss cut ties and fall back to the Ascendancy to vanish into the Unknown Regions once more; over thousands of years, most of the galaxy forgets the blue-skinned red-eyed guys. A few may still wander into the Republic and Outer Rim from time to time, but with so many species, it's not like they'd make a huge impression. Blue-skinned humanoids exist on other worlds, after all (like the Pantorans, ie Baron Papanoida & his family and Senator Chuchi) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
CelticMutt Posted March 21, 2012 Share Posted March 21, 2012 Yeah, there are at least two other blue skinned near human species - Wroonians and Pantorans. Lucas' character was originally a Wroonian until he was retconned to the newly created Pantoran for TCW. Wroonians originally come from the Marvel comics and WEG RPG. Also, even with their advanced storage tech, a LOT of stuff gets forgotten over the centuries/millenia. I mean, just look at this game with how little even your Jedi PCs know about Revan's fight against Malak, and that was only 300 years. By the time of Palpatine's empire people may know of the major beats, like the basics of the Great Hyperspace War, but they've forgotten the details.
