DJayB
If you check the hardware settings on the nvidia control panel by going to the system information page on the bottom left what does it display there? I have the same card
Lundli
I guess running a 32-bit OS would mess things up as it would use the same limited address space, if you are not.. no idea.

FooBard
These 3rd party programs you mentioned may have been compiled x86...? Is my best guess. If windows is saying it has 3GB, don't worry about it. The "game" itself won't have any issue either.
Muskaan
Just stating the obvious-- you have a good enough Power Supply to support a 580? I.E. are you sure that your 580 is not running in a lower power setting? Make sure you have updated drivers and are not using default drivers. gimpcarebear
850 watts, updated drivers, and have the 6 pin plugged in from power supply and had to use 8 pin adapter with 2 6 pins hooked into it also using the evga precision that came with it, it shows my gpu is at 100% while playing. is this normal? DJayB
I am using 285.62 not sure that the other .66 is correct, unless it is not on their website which would not make sense, suggest downloading the "latest" driver from the NVIDIA website to ensure that you have a "stable" version of the driver for your system
